Forward Collision Assistance icon on start up

I am hoping I can get some advice from the MG4 community. I was just experienced a weird lot of alerts in my MG4 - from lane assist not working, 'hand brake' not working, Forward Collision Assistance not working, air bags not working, red SOS icon. Felt a bit dramatic TBH. I waited, switched everything off and on again, and finally after a short drive (with air bags icon and SOS icons showing) everything was back to normal, except that the FCA yellow icon now flashes up briefly on the dash every time I start the car, but it quickly goes off (2-3 seconds).

Any advice on whether this is a significant issue or nothing to worry about. My dealership have advised I bring it in for a diagnostic check. That sounds like a good idea, but I want to make sure I am not over-reacting.

Thanks in advance

John

Welcome to the forum @Johnnybiam35, make sure your windscreen and front camera are clean, a dirty windscreen often throws up several errors and warnings.
Agree, also could be weather related (given the amount of rain & wind this week) as a small bit of moisture could have gotten into a connector which is causing an electrical blip etc.

As others have said, this is typically caused by frost or condensation blocking the windscreen camera - the triangle area near the top-middle of the windscreen.

Note that the condensation may be on the inside of the screen, depending on weather conditions and whether you've been getting the cabin warm enough with AC running.

Couldn't have been this, mine happened on an evening in May. The temperature was 15 degrees on that day according to uncle Google. The video I took at the time shows the sun was out and the windscreen was clear. Also, mine was Airbag fault, ACC fault, Auto Hold fault and SOS fault. I reckon it just got its knickers in a twist after a full 100% charge.

One I have seen, not just on an MG but also on a Cupra I went to test drive a few years ago. If you park the car too close to a wall or other obstruction, when the parking sensors fire up they give a fault message. This can also generate secondary fault messages as one system tell others that it cannot function. E.g. if the camera thinks it is not working then things like speed recognition will also not be able to function

Mine was fixed at the last service with some software patches. Garage said the cause is the infotainment screen taking too long to boot up and they had a fix for it.
It starts up now a little faster but I don't get those triangles anymore, even in the cold.
