French EV hire car - how does charging work?

Hi,

I am off to France for a short trip and will be getting an EV hire car. Anyone know if hire car companies in France provide a choice of cables (i.e. granny, type 2) and any charger memberships? Or am I supposed to sort something out?

I have time to prepare and know France well but not had an electric hire car ever before, so would welcome any advice on how it works. It will be via Sixt.

Interesting anyway, as hire companies will have to move to EV at some point. It was a steep learning curve regarding my own MG4 and charging, apps, payment, etc, and I had wondered how hire companies could rent EVs to ordinary members of the public with no idea about them if they han't got one. Sixt seem to be well organised.
