front parking sensors

We place a small child in the boot and they wipe the camera as we go along. They are voice activated, I shout "Wipe" and they do it!
Though that may be a tongue in cheek comment, any of my fellow "mature" members remember the days when there was no heated rear window fitted as standard in any car? Standing duty for any back seat passenger was wiping the rear glass when it misted up!

Just no heated rear window? One of my early S/H buys (almost certainly an upright Ford Pop) didn't have a heater of any sort as they were optional extras in those days. I do recollect though that it had a 12v strip element stuck to the bottom of the windscreen to provide rudimentary demisting.....

I still don't think it's quite as good as basic sensors...
I went from a Kia Cerato with front sensors to the MG ZS EV without them and I do miss them. I thought with the square bonnet shape it would be easy to judge distance to the car in front but I have found quite the opposite.

I find it a nightmare with no front parking sensors, I am so used to them in my other car that I usually drive, don't drive the ZS enough to get used to the size of it.

I had front sensors in the two Yetis that I have owned then some also in the MB B180, my last car. I really miss them. Thinking of having them fitted - £300 in Lincoln at a specialist who evidently does a brilliant job!

Do front sensors integrate with the rear sensors/camera in any way or does it use it's own separate display?

I don't imagine you need a display for front sensors.
My aftermarket sensors for my Leaf (there when I bought the car second hand) have a small display on the dash. It's just an array of LEDs with different colours. Front and back sensors, not integrated into the rear camera in any way.

It's really good. I would be lost without them, and wish the MG had them too.

No integration just either sounds or an array of LEDs. I think the ones fitted by the Lincoln company are just sounds But there are many on the market to choose from.

I think the Yeti had a combination of sound plus the LEDs whilst the B180 just had sounds- another penny pinching exercise on became of Mercedes!

I reckon the sounds would be fine and then you don't have additional gizmos cluttering the dash and also highlighting that stuff's been done to it.

on my leaf 40 both the front and rear sensors are integrated and activate the camera automatically if they sense an object. handy parking at supermarkets if bollards are present.

tbh though ill park near my fence at home to figure out how far i am from an object and compare with the camera view to ensure i never hit anything. fisheye lens distorts distances so need to get used to it.

I use a old pair of pants attached via bindatwine run down the sides of the car. For rear camera - same principals I used for rear window on my Austin A35.

The ideal situation would be if the MG5 had front sensors in any other market - then those could hopefully just be fitted and integrated with the car's existing software. But I suspect that's a little bit wishful thinking.
