Have MG sorted out the MG4 yet?

Sounds like your EVSE has a problem.
Again, the Zappi is not the problem. the problem is when I set the car to anything other than 100% on the battery screen (or via the app) the car will charge as long as the charge schedule allows it to. I set it to 90% when I came in yesterday evening, this morning the car had charged to 100% and the set point in both the app and the car showed it being set to long journey mode. It is NOT the charger, or the charge schedule. I have set the car to 80% and then gone into it in the app and seen it set to long journey mode after I have opened the app.

I don't use the cars charge schedule as to be frank I do not trust it to work...I know what a pain it is having to delay travel, when through me forgetting to plug the charge cable in I have been left short of juice one morning.

For what its worth the Zappi is:
  • Running the latest firmware.
  • Has been cycled off and on at the breaker.
  • I have cleared and re-set the charge schedule.
  • Has no manual boost settings configured
  • Is set to charge only when surplus or the schedule is in operation.
  • Shows no fault code.
I (five minutes ago) selected the charger to fast charge, waited until it had ramped up to full power and then hit stop charge on the iSmart App. The Zappi immediately stopped charging and has a message on its own app stating "EV is preventing charging" so it is not ignoring stop commands. The problem lies with the car here. However, the problem is now moot as the finance company have agreed to me returning it early.

In good news the LKA is much less intrusive than it was before the update; so at least something worked as intended, I still turn it off but hey at least if I forget it won't be as bad.

I test drove an SE LR yesterday and I thought it was bloody brilliant! Very natural to drive, the salesman put it on OPD mode after I commented on the regen, I got used to it very quickly. looking around I have found a LR trophy phase 2 with full MG service history that is on time and mileage (surprisingly many do not have FSH or indeed any service history, despite being less than 2 years old!).

Transferring funds right now to make the purchase, home charger ordered (8wks), so I hope within a week or so I will be a fully signed up member of the forum!

It is brilliant, as you say! After 2 years, I still find excuses to 'just nip down to the shops' so that I can have a quick drive 😆

I went for the grey colour, I really like it and by the number on the used market, I guess so do a lot of others!

This is great to hear. I’ll be honest I’d got somewhat bored of driving, my other cars were large barges, so I’m hoping this might bring my enjoyment of driving back!

There's been a couple of niggles with our 23 plate Trophy LR.

But one of them is not really fair because it was caused by impatient Mrs S who slammed the boot and snapped the left hand lug off the parcel shelf. I glued it back with super glue and Sodium Bicarbonate. It has been super strong and has not broken since, despite me being brave and removing the shelf several times so we could put the seats down and go to the tip.

The other thing is the temperature. We can set the temp at (for example) 22 degrees, and it will warm up and stay warm for a while, then, without changing anything, it will go cold, then stay cold and not warm up!
Unless we up the temperature manually, that is.

I'm not sure if the temperature thing is actually a fault though, as many people have mentioned it being an issue.

We had our LKA issue fixed at the second service and it's been sweet, we leave everything on.

Our dealer has not been the best. They haven't been interested in our experiences with the car and asked how the car has been when we bring it back for service and they have tried charging us for servicing when it's included in the lease... Bad.

But the car itself? The three year lease expires towards the end of July and so far, nothing has actually gone faulty and needed repairing, nor has it broken down.

Current mileage as of now is 25,551.

Even the poverty pack MG4 51 is a thrill to drive, the only kill joy is guessometer dropping off more range that required to get back home, so I have to settle down a bit .....

I'm guessing it's the shiny grey colour, can't understand why anyone would go for the flat finish grey ..... it looks like it's still in primer, waiting for the colour coat
