Failing that, then you will need the help of a MG dealer who should be able to procure a blank key ?.

I was looking for a spare blade to just open the car. Same problem at the local key cutter - no blank. He said if I got the blank, he would cut it. After a bit of Googling, I found the blank blade on Ebay "VAUXHALL HU100 BLADE BLANK MERIVA CORSA C COMBO TIGRA". listing is: Fits VAUXHALL HU100 BLADE BLANK MERIVA CORSA C COMBO TIGRA | eBay I took the blank in and he cut it - and it fits perfectly. I cut the plastic "ears" off the blade, drilled a hole in the plastic and it's now on a friend's keyring for emergency use if the main key goes missing. The other proper key is in the spar wheel well in a faraday bag so can be retrieved once I'm in the car. Hope this helps.

A long time ago , ( in a galaxy far far away ) I did the same, called the local cop shop and a panda car turned up with a PC with a big box of spare keys, 5 minutes later we was in, Not so sure this service will exist today and with the added complexity of todays door locks wether its a viable proposition, but if desperate , worth a call.
