Im trying to get this working but failing awfully!

Im new to HA but have all my smart stuff in there - have HACS installed but cant get this working.

Do you have any idiot proof suggestions please :)

I don’t think there is anything out of the ordinary with the MG integration. What problem are you experiencing? How far have you got? The author is very helpful I have found and has added extra functionality (Battery heating for example) at my suggestion.
It is working fine for me at the moment.

Thanks JWD. I went down another route with a different integration and mqtt and it's working now :)

Just trying to make it pretty ha!

Just added my MG4 to home assistant using the integration, working really well. Very interested in the open window sensors which aren't exposed in iSmart that I know of. Thought it might be a default Closed value so opened the rear left and sure enough it shows in home assistant. Now to create an automation to let me know when I've left a window open 🤔

I too had some difficulty getting the MG SAIC integration to work. I believe the key to it is the secondary users requirement.

Under the important notes, it states that it is required to use a secondary user account. These are set up in the iSMART app as follows:

Go to the profile page in iSMART app (last icon on right at bottom of screen)

Select Secondary Account

Click + in top right of screen and create a secondary user.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the secondary user is not logged in anywhere. Otherwise the home assistant integration will not log in.

On setting up the integration in home assistant, use the secondary account information.

If you need a secondary account for another user, create a different one for them. Do not use the account you created for home assistant, keep this account dedicated to Home Assistant.

Has anyone had any issues with this recently?

I set it up yesterday and it was working fine, then overnight it won’t connect anymore.

I set up a 3rd account snd switched to that but same issue.

Are you using the python gateway with Mqtt?

I would recommend switching to the python gateway (more stable). I had a similar issue but with the gateway (authentication failed). No clue what the issue was (I switched to the integration with the same account credentials with no issues). It just fixed it self after 3 days 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Hey, how did you get it working? I have Home Assistant with the iSmart intergration enabled and I can see all the entities - but cannot get an automation to work so I can turn on the heat in the cabin. There is an HVAC sensor which controls the temp but does not turn the heat on.

What exactly is your issue? So can you see the "action buttons" to send information oder is it an issue with the thing it self giving you an error (e.g. "Connection refused" ..)?
 
Funny you should ask that - I’ve spent weeks (and am doing it right this second) trying to make the set up work correctly.

Personally I’m using the SIAC container that exposes the car over MQTT and then importing that into HA.

My issue seems to be that some data is not always refreshed when the car communicates and some does, and some sensors don’t play nicely with updating the car.

I’m using pyscript now to do a lot of freshness checks before I am confident the car is responding how I need it to.
