Thanks, I see your Zappi on Bumblebee’s list and assume I would get the opportunity to upgrade. It’s £150 more than the standard one (point) I assume will be the offer charger. Interesting what you say about Octopus. Best deal I can get on Intelligent is 8p overnight and 33p all other times. I’m currently on 23p fixed rate and given I think (guessing really I’ll only charge the car a couple of times a week (hoping less!), I’m not sure going on the EV tariff would be cost effective. I normally do around 30 or so miles a day, maybe 200 in the week
Yes, the OIG package is only available if you have a smart charger. I do slightly less mileage per week than you. I pay 5.2p per kWh at night & 27.77p during the day unless Octopus decides to charge my car in which case my rate returns to 5.2p. Of course, only you can decide what's best for your goodself.

Thinking about the cost to upgrade I’d seriously consider it, for £195 you’ll future proof your install, switching in the future would cost significantly more, plus should you go down the solar route you can use the surplus to charge for free, mines doing that right now.

Excuse the dust, it came from the Sahara apparently.

Thanks, I’m not sure yet how often I’ll need to charge but wouldn’t think more than a couple of times per week. From what I’ve since read, there seems to be some potential safety issues with the granny plug and as you say, £595 is a reasonable price by all accounts.
I paid £1000 for an Easee home charger.

British Gas off-peak rate now 4.39p, 24.68p peak and standing chart 41.45p
Wow that's good. I'm with So Energy. 6.5p off peak, 29 peak, 67p standing charge

Octopus quotes different prices depending on where you live .. the cheapest I could get was somewhere around 8p from them (from memory).

Hi folks, I’ve just joined as picked up my ZS Trophy Long Range a few days ago. Already loving the car and was looking for a bit of advice regarding home charging. The Octopus EV rate is great for a few hours overnight but the rest of the day rate increases my current one by over 10p a kWh, so I’m keeping my current tariff meaning I can charge anytime night or day. I have the opportunity to get a charger from Bumblebee for £595 fitted but wasn’t sure if I’d be as well just using a normal 3 pin plug. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thank you.
I am on intelligent octopus go. Overnight rate for all leccy is now about 3.5p per kwh 11.30 pm to 5.30 am. This is fine for me with HS PHEV but don’t know if it’s enough for pure EV. Home charger gives up to 7kw per hr, so if you’re charging 20 to 80%, it might be enough? Granny charging (3 pin plug) not quick enough IMO. I’m sure others on forum with pure EV will help better.

Depends on when you signed up for the tariff as well as your region.

New tariff pricing is not as good as the same tariff signed up for several months ago.

Please remember before purchasing a wall charger make sure that is compatible with your energy company and car model.

Charging and costs. I copied my Octopus Go energy usage graphs into ChatGPT. I think Gemini and Claude will do the same and they all have a free model. I told it what my mileage was for the year and how much i'd paid and my tariff and it calculated the cost and KW of off peak usage, deducted my transferred daytime usage (washing machine and dishwasher) and gave lots of helpful information. Worth trying.

Correction I used Google's Gemini. I asked it this : Estimate monthly usage from graph. Graph shows standing charges - striped, daytime - lighter shade, night rate - darker shade. Annual total is given.
