My understanding is 'the majority'* of smart chargers are already compliant with the cyber security requirements, this is just formalising it.

*the several articles making this statement haven't confirmed the source of this information and which models/brands are compliant. The implication is that any current model smart charger is compliant.

It's the second part, the so called Section 1 requirement to come in line with EN 303 645, of the updated electric vehicle smart charge points regulations. The main part was 30/06/2022, the cybersecurity part 30/12/2022.

Frankly it is too little too late. The Civil Service have saddled us with an expensive and high risk mess.
