How much are you paying for insurance?

My insurance is with Quote me Happy which is an Aviva subsidiary but I had not seen Aviva themselves on a comparison site. I shall keep an eye out for them.
It was compare the market not go compare as i previously wrote.

So many damn comparison sites:eek:

I've recently signed up for the Drive Score app which depending on how you drive could give you preferential rates at certain insurers. My renewal is due in February 2022 hopefully by then my MG5 LR will be in my possession so I can see if it makes a difference.

It seems that moving to an MG 5 EV doesn't make a massive change to the premiums. I think I can place that myth in the same drawer as battery degradation.

I am extremely confident that my insurance will drop somewhat when I swap from my Stelvio to the MG5 LR 😄

Is it practical to ask if collectively this forum could negotiate a special deal with one insurer? My last car was a 1995 Jaguar XJ and as a member of the Jaguar Enthusiasts club I could take advantage of specialist cover negotiated for the members by the club. I am sure a lot of us would be delighted not to have the hassle every year of looking around the marke.

Good idea in principle. I wonder how many insurance companies would be interested in such a small number of owners though?

Agree with Biccys - also I am in the Institute of Advanced Motorists who have "preferential" schemes for (a much larger number of) members, and I've always found insurance considerably cheaper than they offered me. That may be a unique experience of course...

I’m with Aviva at £335 for two over seventies and a 47 year old daughter. I’m the only one driving as my wife has still to pluck up courage and daughter can’t see beyond her diesel- yet 🤦‍♂️

I’m £312 a year for LR Exclusive with Direct Line. I changed from ZS EV Exclusive and insurance stayed the same.

It must be where I live but I'm getting quotes of way over £400 on the comparison sites for my upcoming 5LR. 10 years NCD, only 250 for my oil burner.

I suspect premiums for new customers may go up this year due to the new rules on giving existing customers the same prices as new ones.

I have just renewed for £364 with Flow insurance, part of LV group. Based in London, 13 years NCD, over 25 years old license

Just got my insurance renewal.

Website boasts about EV cover, cable cover, EV specialised if you have an EV.

Insurance documents talk about mis-fuelling etc, terms of cover don't mention EV cover, but it is mentioned in the depths of the policy book.

So I call them. Lady had never heard of EV cover so asks her supervisor, issue not resolved but ongoing!
