I'm going to check mine tomorrow as it doesn't have the HVAC update applied yet.

Usually you have this offset on a ice car where the probe sits closer to the hvac unit and by the time air gets into the cabin it has been heated by the surrounding environment. On an ev it makes zero sense

The big problem here is that they've used a Celsius temperature scale. Nobody would complain if there was a dial with gradations from blue to red with no stated temp. People would just adjust it until they were comfortable. But MG for whatever reason decided to use offset temperatures that are consistently wrong. Just inexplicably shitty UI decisions.

FWIW, since the recent HVAC and Info updates I have been using 22°C as my target temperature vs 25°C I had to use previously to achieve the same level of cabin comfort.

That sounds like they’ve sorted the mismatch. Hopefully that’s the case for us all at some point

Here's my cabin settings for general comfort.
I noticed the the A/C temp variation as soon as I got the vehicle.
I'd set 22C as if had in my VW, and as it was a summers day the A/C blew cool air and I thought this was great . After a little while my passenger said "it's a bit chilly in here" which is unusual for him, so we uped the set temperature a degree at a time, and agreed that 25C to 26C was comfortable.
Now its winter, the set temp is still 26C and still everything is fine.
I was going to take this issue back to the dealer, but as I see I'm not the only one and Siteguru has suggested that there is some sort of HVAC and Info updates that fix this quirk.

Question for anyone reading this: Do I take the car back to the dealer, or is there a software update I can do myself?

When you get your car, you'll experiment with the settings. You'll soon find what's good for you. Then stick to it. Simple really. 25° seems to be perfect for me in Winter.

Just checked mine and HVAC set point matches FICM UI, I bet it's something they introduced during the last update. Which HAVC modules versions are you running?

I have to agree; its just a number.
OK, so its the temperature at some point in the HVAC system, but as long as the cabin environment feels good and comfortable, does it matter?

However, I think that at some point in the model's design and development, the HVAC guys should have insisted that the digital readouts reflect the cabin temperature, not the systems sensors readings.

On my Standard MY22, everything is fine now after the third service in Dezember '25. All systems were updated (including HVAC), and a climate check plus cleaning the HVAC system was carried out. After that, I used a professional digital weather station from Conrad (an electronics retailer for private and business customers in Germany) for 14 days to monitor the results — the main module on the front passenger seat, the second module on the rear seat bench, and the third module in the trunk.
The temperature was set to 20°C with all vehicle Auto settings enabled, including automatic air recirculation. The result: 20.3°C in the front, 19.8°C on the rear seat, and 18.7°C in the trunk. In Auto mode, the air volume was set to “medium,” suitable for two people on a permanent basis. Humidity is also within range at 43%, and the windows no longer fog up during winter.

Before the third service, I had to set the temperature to at least 25°C just to get the cabin “lukewarm.”

I've had mine set to 22°C through the recent snow and ice and it's been absolutely fine.

In retrospect I found 22°C too warm, so I now set it to 21°C.

I find the heating is fine around town (after the latest update), but very annoying on the motorway for miles as it just wants to pump cold air at your face so you end up having to have warmer.
