I hate my MG4

Before my mg4, I'd never driven an EV , I was not able to test drive one either ( I need adaptions to any car to drive it) but I would say it's the best car I've had. My old Fabia vRS had awful throttle lag, a reoccurring battery drain issue and an always present whirring noise in the cabin. the plastics were easily scratched and ugly, as was the seat fabric.

The mg4 is better in every way conceivable, it's vastly cheaper to run even with my limited mileage, is comfortable and easy to drive and has enough poke throw you back in your seat should you wish.

I've been getting around 230 per full charge (trophy long range) and that'll cost me around £10.

As has been stated before, lemons of any brand exist ( my vRS is one such car I feel)
But as long as you keep in mind it's a budget car and don't compare it to a higher end brand like BMW, it honestly isn't bad value for money.
Unless it's a BMW from Cyprus they are terrible 😉

One of my very few gripes about ours is that the door cards seem to scratch easily.

In fact, the passenger side was already lightly marked on delivery. I would have mentioned it, but Mrs S said it wasn't worth it.

We had a naughty beagle in the back of our car a while back.

Got left on its own and apparently freaked out.

Left loads of scratches all over the inside of the back door (under the window).

Certainly left a mark. Chewed my baseball cap peak as well.

Surely this thread has run it's course.

Time to shut it down ?

These cars have NOTGHING to do with Rover/MG. China bought the company for the badge to dodge EU import laws and that's as far as it goes

So pulling out on to a bypass and then the car refusing to go faster than 1 mph with cars approaching at 60mph is not dangerous?

The LKA turning me into head on collisions with oncoming traffic is not dangerous?

The emergency brakes activating for no reason is also not dangerous!!

To get rid of the car now it would cost me over £15k!!, to keep it for another miserable year will cost me £3k!
So no i dont have a spare £13k to flush down the toilet but i do have 1 more year to turn as many people away from MG as i possible can.
Almost all ADAS isn’t fit for purpose by any manufacturer. They have been forced to adopt technology before it’s ready. MG is no different.

VAG group ADAS is,or was in my experience, a complete disaster too. I had an ID.3 and then a Cupra Born; both were terrible for erroneous emergency breaking and steering wheel yanking line assist. The Born was frighteningly bad; it would do something wrong at least once a week. The ID.3 wasn’t as bad but it didn’t have as many sensors.

This stuff is being mandated on all cars not just EV’s. Although I sympathise, you are being hysterical. My Cupra was a bloody great lemon, for all sorts of reasons, but it was a lemon and I accepted that. I didn’t camp out in the Cupra forum slagging the car off to all and sundry . I got unlucky with the car and even more so with the dealership.

It all sounds a bit suspect, your car won’t go over 1mph while you are joining a bypass?

On top of that you are saying the GFV of your value of your car is out by £12000? All a bit fishy!
