I hate my MG4

How did you find MGEVS.com?
Probably heard about the banter

My car was £18k, got £14.5k trade in for my old car, so it only cost me £3,500. I've already saved about £600 in fuel and probably about £100 in servicing, so not too bad so far.

My partner went to London recently, charged once on the way down and once on the way back, each charge was about 25 minutes, not too bad in freezing weather. First time she had charged the car away from home and she said it was easy.
The member does have a known SR fault and sounds rightly hacked off with it, there is a fix but that famous (for the most part) MG aftersales is adding to the issues.

Albeit for a person that apparently has access to other EVs that work there is a real anti EV sentiment to the posts which are full of FUD.

An hour to charge!!
30k car worth £10k after 2 years
5hr journey taking 6-8 hrs
It's all nonsense as we know

i wasnt able to reject mine because the cold weather hit more than 30 days after i bought it.

If you can afford £80000 on an EV it will be great, Like my brothers BMW i4 M50, but the low end cars are and always will be shit.

You only get very long range with HUGE batteries because most EV's average about 3.5m/kwh which is pathetic.
You can reject a car after one attempt to fix it up to 3 months after buying it, the clock stops when you report it

Low end cars aren't all shit

I have averaged 4.2mi/kWh in over 2 years of ownership, mixed driving at speed limits.

Your brother paid to much for his BMW👍

Change 100% of the car. its shit from top to bottom, nothing works well and everything seems like it was designed by morons who've never driven a car
Sounds like you have had a bad experience, but I totally disagree. Love mine, even though it has had one or two issues in the past. Been running well since software updates sorted out some things.

We've surveyed people before and most are very happy. There are a few lemons out there - perhaps you have one.

Anyway, you are welcome to share your experience, although it may not be the same as other people's.

You will soon learn what im talking about. New cars always seem better than the old one they replaced but this car will soon bug the hell out of you and you will regret getting it. Especially if you regularly use motorways.
Nope. I still love it on motorways and elsewhere. I've had it 3 years, so I think it would have bugged me by now.
Lets see how many times you accidently turn your lights on or off when indicating left, because some idiot thought the indicator stalk would be a great place to put the switch for the lights!
Doesn't happen to me. I have never knocked it even once. You might be holding the wheel in a different way.
You will also love how choppy the drive gets and how much the car bounces around on slightly uneven road surfaces!
The ride isn't the best feature - that's true - but it isn't too bad.
How many times have the SAFETY features tried to kill you?? I've removed the safety sensor from my car to permanently disable everything because i was sick to death of the car AGGRESSIVELY turning and braking
You turn them off, that's what most people do. Plus if you get the right software updates those issues you were talking about are sorted out, like they are on my car.

I've had a look through the rest of your messages and I think I feel about the quality of your commentary on the MG4 the same way you feel about the car....

its the worst EV i have ever driven!

Range - shit
quality - shit
safety features - shit
ergonomics - shit
batteries - shit
motor - shit
sound deadening - shit
MG dealership - shit

today i got 70 miles from a full charge and my car crawled to work like it was pulling a building behind it because it was sub zero outside

I have honestly considered crashing this car so i can get rid of it. Thats how much i hate it and cant wait for it to be gone.

A lot of your messages are driven by emotion and that doesn't tend to convince people as much as calm, reasoned argument. You're not really saying much other than...

i will never wait longer than 1 minute when refueling

I don't think people doing a fill-up-and-drive-away type robbery can do it in a minute.
How long does it take to pay for it? Even using the pay-at-pump debit card system takes longer than a minute. And for long journeys, I salute your bladder!

if i do 70 mph on the motorway i will get about 100- 140 miles, the only way i can get more range is by slowing to 50mph

Actually if you do 70mph, you can get more range by doing any speed lower than 70. Like 65. But the speed vs efficiency isn't linear and it takes some effort to push the air out of the way at 70mph. I noticed significant improvement doing nearer 60 than 70 years ago in my Ioniq.

In any case, your car will have significantly lower range when it's cold for obvious reasons (it takes a lot of energy to heat the battery and cabin to desired temperatures and it has to do that for every drive you do - even the 5 minute ones to the shops).

Clearly you are having a negative experience, but I find that if you approach a situation with a positive attitude, you are more likely to get a positive outcome.
It sounds like you've given up and are resigned to being emotional and miserable rather than trying to resolve the issues to make your life happier.

This poster has never owned a current MG. Don't reply.
How do you know?
If there is sufficient evidence to show that they are a troll and their story is bogus, I will spam clean them.

As a rule, if someone makes a statement of fact which is very critical, then it's reasonable to ask them to back it up with some supporting evidence.
Obviously
Change 100% of the car. its shit from top to bottom, nothing works well
Is not true, so there is a factual problem here, right out of the gate.

I can't talk about the dealership as I have yet to go to one but I have had none of the other problems, even now during winter my range has been fine.

Every car I’ve ever owned had the lights on the indicator stalk, seeing as that stalk “controls the lights”…?

And I will never go back to fossil fuel, wasting time out of my day filling up a tank with explosives, whilst huffing toxic fumes. My car charges while I do fun stuff or while I sleep at home, always ready to go.

I have a very nice ICE surf wagon, before my wife got the MG4 it was the best car we ever owned.
Now however the MG4 is the best. As Reintje says, fits our lifestyle perfectly. Is soooo nice to drive, and runs on sunshine!!!

I guess, expectations are a factor, my main reason for going BEV, was to improve our carbon foot print, and was prepared to pay more for it. It wasn't about changing from a $40K ICE vehicle to a $40k BEV and expecting the same quality. It was about going from a $25k ICE vehicle to a $40K BEV and expecting to not use petrol.
The advantages of the MG4 are a really nice bonus.
