I hate my MG4

I hate my MG4 too.

My car is a lemon full of issues and its dangerous.

Sadly I'm stuck with it for another 11 months but needless say this will be the last CHEAP NASTY CHINESE CAR i will own and i wont consider another EV until the Petrol ban officially takes affect!

Hmmm, i'm not a massive fan of the MG4 (which is a shame as i was wanting an Xpower since they first came out and have a lot of affection with UK Rover/MG's) however what's has hating EV's got to do with the MG4? Clearly the MG4 is much better car than the MG ZR in every way (which was an ICE car). Yep, the MG4 does IMO seem inferior to other EV's, however, it's hardly dangerous.

Plus, are you really stuck with it, or do you just not want to pay the penalty for getting shut?

These cars have NOTGHING to do with Rover/MG. China bought the company for the badge to dodge EU import laws and that's as far as it goes

So pulling out on to a bypass and then the car refusing to go faster than 1 mph with cars approaching at 60mph is not dangerous?

The LKA turning me into head on collisions with oncoming traffic is not dangerous?

The emergency brakes activating for no reason is also not dangerous!!

To get rid of the car now it would cost me over £15k!!, to keep it for another miserable year will cost me £3k!
So no i dont have a spare £13k to flush down the toilet but i do have 1 more year to turn as many people away from MG as i possible can.

This discussion happened two weeks ago did you look into voluntary termination, you may be able to get rid of it 6,7,8 months earlier.

And if I remember right from a couple of weeks ago you mentioned you had access to other EVs that worked as they should.
Why would you let an experience with one crap car put you off all EVs if others are fine

At least they are consistent, nearly two weeks since last post and I'm guessing the car hasn't improved any👍

I thought he'd 'fixed' all the problems by...
I've removed the safety sensor from my car to permanently disable everything
and...
so i ripped out the safety sensor.
Problem solved, the car has never done anything unexpected ever since!

So it must be perfect to drive now 🎉🥳

And re..
Keeping it for another year will cost me £3600. then the finance company can lose £10k on it instead
LOL... you don't think the finance company paid more than 50% of the sticker price do you? ;)

Really, i didn't know that , i must have been in a bubble since 2005, Najingwho? The point was the UK designed ZR (R25) wasn't any better than this car, in-fact it was much worse.

Here’s a special press photo to cheer everyone up (the only modern Rover/MG I never had). I believe this specific picture isn’t on the internet anywhere else hence posting it almost 23 years later.

A passing visit it would appear, bit like finding a pub where rival football fans drink, booting open the door slags the team off then disappear sharpish.

Thing is people might be able to help if they got the chance
Being slightly nostalgic, and also sarcastic he could take his car back in time to the quality analysis centre 😜. Incidentally this is one of the last ever MGRover press photos from April 2005, so fellow geeks might enjoy.

tough old life lol.

Maybe in the perfect utopia of MG Cyprus but what they are describing are know faults (power reduction, lka)

Try to take your MG name badge off and see it from a customer with faults point of view.
For example a Cyprus BMW maybe then you could display a little empathy.

The member may be going about it in the wrong manner but we may be able to help if they give us a chance

I am sure Mg can handle a few unhappy customers as sales are booming.

Unfortunately you are correct. It won't bother MG one bit. Which is a real shame.
A bit of effort from MG themselves.
The brand could be, even better.
As on the whole, they do make Good cars.
🙂👍

The MG4 is a great car which most owners love.

A handful of people have had lemons and such bad experiences that they think all MG4s are like theirs (not remotely true) and all MGs (or even all Chinese cars) are bad.

A single person's experience we can have sympathy with, but it is absolutely no guide to what most people can expect.
