What you tend to find with large organisations is they put lots of "policy" in place to prevent employees agreeing to things that would cost them money. But if you contact the right manager they will run roughshod over any policy to do the right thing.

So many examples of this with Stellios in the Airline TV show, agent would tell customer company policy and why something could not happen then Stellios would stroll into shot and to make himself and EasyJet look good override any policy to placate the customer.

As with most things you just have to find the right person with enough authority to see common sense and do the right thing.

I never found that person with MG UK, the second dealer we used after bining the first (as they couldn't have been less helpful) tried to be helpful but were blocked by MG

Youre probably right and it may well work with MGUK but frankly, I cant be bothered, I wont be losing out because I will simply start legal proceedings against the dealer where my contract is. In the worse case scenario they take the car back and I then purchase my Kia or Tesla depending which bargains are around at the time.
