IM6 Insurance

No, it's nothing to do with the version. I received a quote from Saga for a Launch Edition.

Mine is insured with Hastings. Previous was insured with Admiral who refused to provide a quote.
Was getting ridiculous quotes but when Hastings started offering I managed to move both the IM6 and my wife's Atto 3 for £900 all together.
Launch version by the way.

I've got Hastings too, which became active today - don't make the same mistake as I did and assume the MG dealer offers a day of drive-away insurance - couldn't drive it yesterday and the trip from dealer to home was uninsured. eek.

Seems to be a lovely car though, next up is programming the radio, DAB did seem to be a bit flaky compared to the Enyaq I was driving before but maybe that's me reading this forum too much. :)

Oh my! You dodged a massive bullet there. It can draw police attention this car. I was happily driving down the M57 yesterday and a copper was essentially tailgating me.
I was worried that I did something wrong till he eventually overtook me and gave a thumbs up lol.
I guess he was curious about what the hell this car is since I have it debadged :P

My dealer did offer drive away insurance.

Might be location then, I'm over the water in NI, I did try for a quote for a long range today which was also declined. Can insure with AXA NI who are decent price though. The hunt goes on.

From FB:

We've had a few customers at Luscombe's Leeds have issues insuring their new IM.
While I can't comment on prices, many companies do not quote prices at all. I would highly recommend calling them direct quoting the following ABI Codes to confirm they are correctly locating the car.
ABI code; 33701394 - IM6 100kWh Long range
ABI code; 33701395 - IM6 100kWh Performance
ABI code; 33701396 - IM6 100kWh Launch edition
ABI code; 33701391 - IM5 75kWh Standard range
ABI code; 33701392 - IM5 100kWh long range
ABI code; 33701393 - IM5 100kWh Performance
Any questions, feel free to drop me a message or email [email protected]

Getting some ridiculous quotes through comparison websites. Tesco not quoting me. Any ideas?

I'm getting 3k+ for quotes!
That's insane. I was going to pull the trigger on a Launch edition in December and Admiral my existing insurer would not cover it so I looked at other insurers who would on cost comparison sites including Money Supermarket. Was able to sign in and retrieve and update quotes just now and this was the cheapest non monitored quote:

Tried again yesterday out of curiosity.
Uswitch with my details (45 years old, 12 years NCB, 2 kiddos, 10k miles per year, Liverpool postcode).
Mine is the Launch and cheapest I got was again from Hastings £732 business miles included too.
Can't complain when I was paying £800 for my 6 years old model 3 at Admiral...
Admiral still refusing to cover the IM6 by the way...

I will try with my VIN. Its ridiculous. Could be because I am in London. I am 49, 9 yrs NCB. 1 child. Had the same issue with my Alfa Romeo Stelvio when new. But had manufacturer's supported insurance for the first year. Subsequent years were ok.

All insurance companies are like that.
I just had to move from LV to Admiral because I'm switching from an MG4 Trophy LR to an MG4 Premium LR.
Make it make sense!!!

Coincidentally, I moved from LV to Admiral 2 years ago when I got my X Power as LV wouldn't cover it, I then added the M3 when I got it in May last year to the policy under their multi cover scheme, they gave me a complimentary 1 years NCD on it and charged me the equivalent of £243 for a year's cover which I was more than happy with given we are talking 4.0L naturally aspirated V8 producing 414 bhp, 295 ft-lb of torque with an 8,300+ RPM redline.

In August we got the renewal for the house insurance in, it had jumped to £856 for the year, Admiral added it to the policy, applied their discounts for combination of cars and house, £423 equivalent for the year.

Now it does mean you have a single policy renewal date but as we registered the S6 in my wife's name to make use of her NCD from her previous car (which she would have lost next year) when we switched to being a single car household (she's not getting near driving the M3) and that means my full NCD will be used on the M3 I'll be interested in the cost come October.

I've no connection with Admiral, only mentioning this because I'd have been loathe to have had to leave them and bloody glad they insure the S6 Trophy LR.

ok. Just realised nobody wants to cover London, especially central London!
