Well I ordered a Racing Green XPOWER back in mid April through the work salary sacrifice scheme, I was originally told that MG are pretty good and the current expected delivery was 3 months. After a few weeks the delivery date started to be pushed back finally ending in September (which is when my current company car is due to be handed back).

After a bit of back and forth (and being told if I wanted a different colour I could have it sooner, I stuck with the green), I have now finally been given a delivery date into the dealers of the 29th August. I have asked if they can make sure it's registered in September to get the latest reg, and I have also asked if it can have all the latest updates installed.

So currently looking at taking delivery w/c 15th September (typically I'm on holiday w/c 8th or I could have probably pushed to get it sooner), at least i have a date to look forward to.

I was told at the time of ordering that MG are stopping supplying any charging cables, just glad I have a home charger, I assume this is just a cost saving exercise.

Things are starting to get exciting !!!

Good luck

Great news @Panther. (y)

I'm assuming your home charger is Type2 tethered?, otherwise you'll still require a charging cable.
Yeah, Ohme Pro with a tethered cable, had it fitted a while back but not used it yet, be good to finally give it some use, hope the Octopus cheap rates are as good as people say.

Definitely taking the bull by the horns into the EV world, I have a plug in hybrid currently, almost got a long range trophy and then thought I'm getting on a bit might as well have some fun for a change, I do suffer from a lack of self restraint, so that could be an issue ;):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Had ours over a year and met up with someone yesterday who is currently looking for either a Tiguan or a Qashqai YAWN.

Couldn't resist launch control and when he said that that much power was "unnecessary" he followed it up with "but surely very addictive?"

I'd say the novelty wears off but after our time with the car, and having recently driven a manual Toyota Corolla up and down mountain roads in Crete, the ease and simplicity of the xpower really doesn't.

You'll love it!

I do around 14 miles each way to work, 50% on 'A' roads and 50% on the motorway, average on the 'A' roads is between 35 and 45mph, on the motorway between 60 and 85 (yes I know) depending on the traffic.

What sort of energy consumption should I be expecting? is 3kw/hr expected or optimistic?

Efficiency is measured in miles per kWh - 3 kW/hr would be a charging speed. ;)

3 mpkWh should be feasible in those conditions, especially at this time of year. Might struggle to reach that in winter though.

Damn :eek::poop:

This is what happens when I'm posting instead of working !! :ROFLMAO:

Yes definitely should have been 3m/kWh 🤦‍♂️

You can start getting your USB memory stick loaded up with the soundtrack to Top Gun for those Feel the need... moments
Oh what good idea mate, I'm on it. (y)
Don't forget the Beach-boys, 'Good vibrations' ;)
<takes tin hat and heads for the door>

I'm sure you'll enjoy the XPower. I was out and about this morning in mine, had a white van (isn't it always?) trying to get naughty coming off a roundabout on an otherwise empty dual carriageway - three seconds on the not-so-loud pedal and it was a dot in the rear view mirror.
Got mine early this year, didn't get any cables with it.
