Hi all
My car alarm goes off occasionally when it’s plugged in to charge with the octopus charging schedule. Is there anyone else on here that has had an alarm problem when charging and if so have you managed to fix.
I think it’s a problem with octopus stopping and starting the charge during its schedule as I have checked what’s happening when the alarm goes off.
Any ideas would be helpful

Hi Don, so does your Octopus app start charging, then pause, then re-start, and when this happens it causes the alarm to go off?
My scheduled charging just has the car in a ready to charge state, then when the scheduled charge starts, it starts charging and when schedule finishes (or target percentage set in the car is reached) it stops. No alarm triggering on mine.

Hi BB, octopus is controlling the charge so it starts & stops when it can supply electricity at 7p regardless of the time of day. It appears when it stops and starts again it triggers the alarm ( I think the car thinks it’s being “attacked”)
So I’m using octopus to control the charging schedule ( not the car) that way I get cheap electricity all the time
Cheers
Don

Hi Don,

Have you tried charging without the Intelligent schedule?
I know what you are talking about since both are EVs are charging like this through the Ohme charger talking to the Octopus intelligent app.
We never had this issue.
Is it still happening?

Hi Nik,
Can confirm that preconditioning the car appears not to set the alarm off. However on last nights charge ( using octopus scheduling) gave no problems at all ( and no alarms): perhaps it was just a gremlin!
