I have my Ohme charger down the side of the house behind a gate on a 8 meter cable and works well. I would not charge in the garage if attached to the house but if you have room on the drive to back away from the house then plug in to charge just in case there was a fault and the battery went in to run away that would give time for the fire man to get to you also you house would be safe. When I charge my car is 4 meters away from my and next door house now they built a extension even I have a LFP battery also that stops any cable been curling up as this will not cause hot spots. Cable should be alway uncurled when in use.
