iSmart Update to 3.0

Is demist functionality a new addition on the app? Never noticed it before.

I have a ZS. I like the new look of the iSMART app (and I have reverted to the white skin), but I am a bit puzzled by this. Any ideas? The vehicle definitely does not start up when I have activated AC from the app.

I had this on mine (i don't remember ever setting up a PIN). I went in to:

Last option on the bottom menu (not sure what it's supposed to be but is a circle with a white semi circle in.
Clicked "Security Settings"
Then "PIN Code"
Press "Send" to get a verification code
Type code in and then setup the "PIN code"
 
I think the question was regarding the vehicle starting, not the PIN?

@Susanna it might be a generic ZS message in relation to the ZS Hybrid+ which also has app support (I believe). In that case the engine may indeed start.
 
As part of my tests on HVAC and seat heating control from the app I actioned the functions too many times and got a warning message to 'start the engine (edit: vehicle) and then stop the engine and try again'. It could the translation is askew and it means the car will draw power from the HV battery. I also get a similar warning:

There is a problem with the feedback of the car state after an order is sent which leads to the warning (edit) 'the remote instruction is being executed, please try again later' (can't remember exact words) or failure to connect to the car. In my A/C test I pressed the 'LOW' icon. Physically the car's A/C started (lights on plus A/C noise) but I got the remote instruction warning message and no message about 10 minutes only. I refreshed the screen but again another warning message until eventually a status was obtained and the A/C power and 'LOW' icons turned blue.

Previously I was trying seat heating but got a warning message but when the screen refreshed the MG page seat heating icons were blue.

I just tried switching my A/C on low, which it did perfectly. However, the wording which I complained about at #65 has changed to the same as yours at #69.

I shouldn’t complain though - I love my car, and having an app to heat/cool is ace!
 
As for seat heating, the seat icon controls the driver's seat heating setting to high or off. The state is indicated by the flames and the red square top right. If the passenger's seat heating is on there are no red flames just a red square at the top left of the 4 square cluster. If both seats are on there will be 2 red squares. (Question why the 2 lower red squares? Rear seat heating?)

@Susanna, I don't use seat heating very often and so the ability to remotely action it is not for me. Others will use it though.

One good thing is that switching on seat heating via the climate section will result in the seat heating section displaying the correct state once there has been a successful refresh of the MG page.

I am convinced that the warning 'the remote instruction is being executed ...' means the order will be done but you need to refresh the appropriate page to confirm it worked. If the order failed I think you will get a failure message.
 
So - a major update, excited, full of anticipation...... er no not after taking a look around - Apart from shuffling the front screen around nothing has changed for my ZS EV. There are zero enhancements or any additional functionality. Why??
There is a sperate horizontal bar showing EV management which just takes you to the battery page. Why isn't it a large square landing pad? I use battery management every week. I've never needed 'Find Car'
Rescue call shows zero information, like wise 'My manual' is empty.
No additional information on Vehicle status page.
I'm lucky my MG is white. Why on earth can't they have the very few other colours to choose from for those that have other coloured cars.
Over the years the App has stabilised and works nearly 100% of the time. It could do so much more as all the connectivity is already in place.
I'm very happy with my ZS EV, the same cant be said for the App - but I guess it works so maybe I should stop moaning
 
I am in the group of car not recognising the binding correctly and asking me to get the previous owner to unbind. Only thing I can think would be the issue is the fact the car is still on factory installed software which has not been updated since manufacture in 2023. Will probably end up being a call to the lease company to authorise a trip to an MG dealer
