iSmart Update to 3.0

The heating/cooling is activated when the required pin is entered, it's just that there is this strange text underneath the 'Please Enter Security Code' text when the code is required.

Could you post a picture of what you get when you are asked to enter the code?

Ah yes, now I've had another look, it does say the vehicle starts etc. TBH I never noticed it, didn't it say something similar on the old version ?

The Ohme setting just switches on the power to the car, you need to start the heating in the car settings. The Ohme setting is only really useful for cars that can schedule the heating. For the MG you may as well just use the Max Charge when you need to preheat.

There is yet another update 3.0.1 which was released on 1st August.
Mine auto updated. Compared to version 2.0 I was using before there is a lot more information on the front page, although the sub pages seem to be the same as the earlier version.
I'm using the white theme. I've noticed there is a colour change to the front page at night, not sure if this was in the 3.0 version. The battery level is small, but is a bonus compared to earlier versions. It however displays the hours/ mins it has calculated to the target, which requires some mental calculations to work out when it will be finished. If you go into the ev management page the display is as before with the calculated finish time.
There is also a bit more front page scrolling required as it's so big now.

Anyone experienced an issue with the MG iSmart app yesterday [31st Aug] ? It was working okay in the morning, but sometime in the afternoon, for reasons unknown, I was logged out and couldn't log back in again
I changed the password okay, but the log in button on the app doesn't work [dull blue instead of bright blue]. Tried reinstalling the app and using another make of device to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've just checked my app and is on version 3.1.1🙂

It seems that the latest V3.0.1 for Android has several advantages, such as having a refresh on the front page (top right), and showing the battery percentage, charging power, and time till target charge (time left as it is labelled) now all on the front page which is convenient.
However while charging on a Pod Point up to 7kW charger tonight I noticed the difference in how it now displays the charge.
So the app no longer shows when it has reached its target that it is equalising by displaying a low and variable charging current, and the finishing time showing the current time.
Those fields are now blank, ie charging power, time left on the front page and finishing time and charging power on the ev management page. This is while still saying charging on both pages and the 75 % to 100% green segment pulsing on the car.
Definitely retrograde compared to the earlier version that had these working correctly.

I really HATE this iSmart app. Tried to use it this morning and it's decided that the token has expired and I need to log in again, it also wants me to rebind to the car. Who thought of this nonsense?
--edit--
Ok, the rebind demand was because it messed up the userid field and decided I was a new owner.
Once I worked out what it was looking for wrt a phone number and edited the mess it made I was able to log back in again. Do they not test these things?

The token expiring thing is about security I'm told, I just log back in again using the saved info on my phone. I haven't ever had the rebinding request in present memory🤔

Seems that if the contents of the userid field changes, it assumes you're a new owner instead of telling you that the login is invalid but instead of telling you that, it just goes to the vehicle bind screen...
