iSmart

The window message on mine disappears once the refresh completes. I like the new charging display on the front page (standard theme) when you plug in, and then when actively charging it changes again. So direct from the front screen you can stop/start charge, set the battery full target, get the percentage, and estimated complete time. Much better imho.

I've been playing about with app locking and unlocking and lost the button action colour plot.

If the car is locked, should the lock button be blue or should the unlock button be blue?

Note that the keyless start button starts off grey until Bluetooth connects and then it turns to blue. So I assume that blue means that key is active though the unlock button works when grey or blue.
The "active" item is blue. I think it would be better to have just a single icon that changed to reflect the current status - but it has always had the grey/blue icons in the app.

The unlock can work either via Bluetooth or via the GSM.

Plugged in, not charging

The window open message is actually correct. I had it - went out and found a couple of the windows would close by a couple of millimeters (although they visually looked closed). When I refreshed the screen the message went.
In the same spot you get a message saying vehicle unlocked - if it's unlocked that is.

Yes, before the update, the lock/unlock function worked via internet if you used the buttons on the home page, while if there was no internet, you had to go to the digital key section to do it via Bluetooth. In the new version, I tried without internet and only with Bluetooth, and it works directly from the home page as well.

Mine shows Window open below the time/date. 🤷‍♂️
Mine is showing time and date there now with the white theme. No window open text, but I noticed it's night now and the app is showing a night sky. Will see in the morning if it comes back when the app shows it's daytime.

Just checked this morning and the window warning isn't there anymore when the app shows daytime either. Looks like it's fixed now.

I updated this morning. I was on the 100 year theme and I double checked that the battery charge setting was at 100% - long range. However when I switched to the standard theme the battery setting changed to 80% - health mode.

Given that there are so many reports of users returning to their cars to find windows open I guess the new Window Open notification is a default message 😂

@mg4mc, I thought the active button should be blue but as @rvuid's second image shows that is not totally correct. In the image the unlock button is blue yet the top right status shows 'vehicle unlocked'.

However, that state is not always correct and does not link to the status page of the app. If you unlock the car using the app's (grey) unlock button and then do not open any doors so that the car locks itself again the MG page can retain the 'vehicle unlocked' state text with a blue unlock button.

It maybe that the MG page status display is linked to the button pressed and not the actual status.

You need to refresh the app to get the latest state if something on the car changes independently of the app.

So both show unlocked 😁

I had a similar issue after this update, as soon as I opened the app, it immediately showed a “security alert” notification, followed right after by “security alert cancelled”. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but that didn’t help. Then I unlinked the car from the app and paired it again, and that actually fixed it. Now everything works perfectly, aside from a few questionable design choices.

I just can’t get used to that missing square in the white theme. They could’ve added a proper square showing battery charge (even though it’s already displayed above), and maybe a quick button for battery preheating (even though I’ve never used it). But seeing an empty space where something should clearly be, and then having the EV management option so hidden below, it’s honestly an eyesore.

But hey, it’s MG, I’m already pretty happy with the update overall.

In my case I deliberately opened all the windows and then fully closed them - I still get the Window opened indication. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe I need to do the window control reset routine. I'll do this next time I'm at the car (if I remember).

Carried out the exercise again. Car relocked itself. 'vehicle unlocked' still displayed and the unlock button blue. Refreshed the screen: 'vehicle unlocked' disappeared to be replaced with a blank section and the lock button turned blue with the unlock button turning grey.

Other events. When I pressed the unlock button the car unlocked but I got a warning message stating that the car needed to be locked to action that button. Secondly, on switching to my browser leaving the iSmart app running I got the 'running in the background' message. Has not happened before when I experimented. Perhaps I should not be trying to confuse it.

Seems like MG has finally updated the app! However, it seems the update is mostly limited to a design overhaul, as the sub-pages and their functionality remain unchanged (as far as I can see).

With the car unlocked I opened iSmart. The MG page showed the updating circles which ended with a failure and reasons about the car being outside network range, car being asleep and if I could not connect to contact the dealer. The lock button was blue. I refreshed the screen and it worked; the screen declared the car to be unlocked and the unlock button turned blue.

So @mg4mc, you are right that the button colour is a status indicator rather than an action one.

Can’t get into mine - looks like the iOS update has happened but can’t log in. Says email, telephone not registered.

Is it down by chance ?

Done the window control reset procedure and no dice - still the same for me. 🤷‍♂️

And my White theme is pure white - it doesn't have any colouring like shown in post #33. Plus I don't have that Charging bit at the bottom (unless that's a clip from a separate part of the app just added to the post).

Try to unlink the car from the app and pair it again with the qr code, it worked for me. But my problem was an alarm notification every time I open the app since the update. It can work also for the window notification.

It doesn't bother me enough to go through the pain and risk of doing that process ... I can simply revert to the 100 Years theme where there's no such indication anyway. :)

I had exactly the same with mine. It showed window open and when I checked one rear window moved up slightly even though it looked closed and the message cleared on refreshing the app.
