Joke thread

Never underestimate the power of passive censorship, most of us have the guile to mind our Ps and Qs and moderate our public responses even when its could be considered banter within a joke thread. One persons humour is different to the next and sometimes clash along with their sensibilities . If a general line has been crossed , apologies are in order but at least that line should be made clear, which in the general rules it has. If its something specific then that should be pointed out and highlighted as distasteful , again requiring an apology , which would almost certainly be furnished. Sorry, but I'm quite mad about these , in my opinion unfounded accusations .

I suppose my initial response was a bit of a half hearted slap on the wrist, with a shake of the head and an ‘ugh - you boys are revolting’. The trouble is, you can’t get that across easily in the written word. It was a little admonishment, not really to be taken too seriously.

My turn to issue an apology, as it has become apparent that some members have been offended by my comments, and that they may feel I’m trying to censor a joke thread. That was not my intention at all.

Thanks,... the use of a smiley emoji on your original admonishment would have lessened the severity of its context.
For my own part I was indignant because I did not post anything on what we presume was the offending " sketch " but only replied with "funny emojis" to what I considered a funny , Wallace and Gromit,/ Monty Pythonesque style of interplay between the concerned members. One of whom who was not indicted, but has now gone into hiding , living crouched behind some wheelie bins in an alley whilst one of his concerned dogs stands guard and the other searches for nourishment in bins behind Mc Donald's and Burger king for its cowering master. Consequences, we always have to be aware of consequences? :)

@Susanna was it the cheese section that offended you?
I didn't really find it that funny, but it certainly didn't offend me.
And I guess that's the thing with 'jokes', I thought it was funny, but we don't all share the same sense of humour, and I didn't think for a minute it could offend anybody. 😊

@OriginalBigAl - you are right. I did miss out some members in my haste to put others on the virtual naughty step.
Hopefully we are all friends again now?
Yes, absolutely of course , family spat and all that.
Good,.... now I'm in the clear..... Hey ! boys , take it on the chin, she might have a point yer know! :D
