It's been fine till a couple of days ago, but suddenly the volume control on the right joystick just isn't working at all.

It's not the joystick itself, because it still works as normal when it's in HVAC mode or dashboard screen mode. It's not the volume control itself, because the buttons below the central screen work just fine.

I tried the 10-second press on the Home button, but no difference. Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else?

ETA: The mute/unmute function when I press down on the joystick is still working though. Weird.

Are you getting the volume horizontal bar in the centre of the infotainment screen when you use the joystick and does it say media volume above it?

Is the music playing? (I assume you've tried a single press on the right joystick).

No idea if this will work, but ... try pressing and holding the right joystick button for 10 seconds?

Yes, the music is playing. Everything is normal except that the only way to change the volume is by using the centre buttons. I could try the joystick press. Pressing it once mutes/unmutes as it always has, it's just the louder/softer function that seems to be gone.

It doesn't matter whether I'm listening to the radio or the USB stick, no volume control with either. However, the left-right joystick press continues to work, changing the radio station or the audio track depending on what I'm listening to.

I have similar but not exactly the same problems. I cannot unmute the radio but increasing the column on the steering wheel overcomes the fault. Have you tried the volume control whilst the radio is muted?

Yours is a Trophy - they tend to have different issues from the SE. But that's interesting because faults with the joystick volume aren't something I've heard anyone else complain about. I'll try what you say, but in fact I can mute and unmute the radio (or USB player) normally, it's just the up/down movement for the volume that isn't doing anything.

You said resetting the infotainment hasn't worked. What about disconnecting the 12V battery and leaving it 10 minutes to make sure everything has reset, then reconnecting. I've seen a few problems solved that way. Otherwise it might be a back to dealer job.

I can try disconnecting the battery, although it's hard to see how this would work when the resetting of the home screen didn't. Just not now, because the car is in the garage charging for a 450-mile trip tomorrow. Not messing with anything before that. I can use the centre buttons for now.

I'm reluctant to go back to the dealer with anything infotainment related, because I do NOT want them to update the software from R13. I don't want to lose the temperature display.

I had the same during my commute a couple of days back.

I tried enabling and disabling the aircon short cut but that didn’t help and ended up using the buttons under the screen to change.

As with your experience but during my journey, it started working again, possibly because I disconnected and reconnected my phone (CarPlay).

It’s the first time it has happened to me since getting the car in December last year.

I noticed when Nav is on via CarPlay (have SE so no inbuilt nav) the joystick only controlled the navigation voice not the music. Had to use the volume buttons on infotainment screen for music audio or the pull down menu.

I don't have Android Auto on my phone but I had been messing around with ABRP and I wonder if it was open on my phone which was in the car. I noticed it would try to give me directions when I was driving, which I hadn't expected. Possibly the Bluetooth connection disabled the joystick volume even though the app itself was silent? Might be worth an experiment.

If you use the right star button to select AC, even after the pop-up display goes away, the toggle switch stays in AC mode. If you want to get back to volume control, you have to press the right star button again to exit AC.

I think I prefer the Trophy behaviour since my screen doesn't get cluttered up with AC controls and I can use the right buttons to adjust it and click it back to control the volume mode when I am done. That way I can adjust the AC while looking at the map.

That's an issue with the Trophy. My SE doesn't have that problem. I think it was either a temporary glitch or I had ABRP open on my phone without realising it and it had commandeered the system.

I have an SE and tonight the media volume won't disappear off the top of the screen and just flickers between volume 2 and 3 meaning I cant access other things on the screen as the media bit is constantly stuck at the top of the screen?
