KERS3 and ice

I just see KERS in an EV the same as engine braking in an ICE, different rates of KERS or different gears produce more or less braking.

That's how I see it.
You could lose traction on ice in an ICE (see what I did there ) if you rapidly changed down from a high to low gear.

Does cold weather impact KERS (kinetic energy recovery system)
Over the last week or so I've noticed little to no affect of KERS, the weather has struggled to get above freezing.
I've read several posts from other members that say they have experienced the same thing.
Yes you can lose traction in an EV or ICE, It's all about smooth operation of power, gentle deceleration and light use of brakes.
How many people have been on a skid course and know what to do in the event of losing traction?

I've read that due to a cold battery being harder to charge, this has an impact on KERS - I thought my KERS 3 was a bit weak the other day, didn't seem to slow me as much as I expected.

Does sliding your dad's car around an empty supermarket carpark during the first winter after passing driving test count - avoiding the trolley bays was the challenge ?.

In all seriousness though, learning how to steer when you lose traction (deliberately or not) is a useful skill to practice if you need to drive in these conditions. Saying that, there will always be occasions where no amount of steering input is going to recover a skid - black ice on an ungritted corner being the classic example.

No. That is stupid and irresponsible.

Much better snow in the Showcase Cinema car park by us.... drove out of there once with ice packed into the wheels of my first car (fiesta) from that much sideways sliding in the snow. Bottom car park (empty), slight slope and a good foot of pristine untouched snow with a slightly icy base. Happy days!

at least, where I used to live anyway. I'm on t'other side of the pennines now and we get sod all here.
