Lane assist now fixed ?

Having now used the car ( MG4se) for a few days I have noticed that the lane assist if selected OFF in the menu stays off ! After several journeys I can enter the car and go to turn it off but it still remains off ! Sitting watching it while cycling through the drive mode options it does switch on and off depending on mode selected but I have not had to switch it off at the start of any journey so far. Car is obviously new but was wondering if it has some sort of latest software revision?

It should still come on - are you pressing the brake pedal to put the car into READY mode? - because before you do this it may still show as OFF, but once you do, it should come on again.

Basically, if it truly stays OFF, that is technically a bug, albeit a desirable one. Some people had that when they first got their cars a long time ago. But with more recent software versions it always resets every time you switch the car on.

In terms of it being fixed, if you have recent software it should be quite gentle and no longer be yanking the steering wheel. You may still dislike it - I do - but it shouldn't be in any way dangerous. If yours feels like it is, you can get it updated at your dealer.

Yes I have been driving the car daily , locking , unlocking etc and every time I ' start ' the car and go into the menu it says lane assist off. I can toggle it on but it remains at the last journey selected setting . Car is latest spec with nav, rear wiper and rear camera so not something that has been sat unused in a compound since 2022. Will have to investigate further but at the moment I am not complaining !

Do you have two yellow symbols in the top left hand corner of the drivers screen and on the main screen along the top near the time clock a small trailer symbol. If so you have ( or someone else ) enabled towing mode, which is hidden at the bottom of the drivers menu , scroll up to reveal.

Sounds like you have a Dream car. Most of us would love it to stay off. Once it's turned off, the first time.
