Limiting power?

Saw someone yesterday scrolling through tik tok whilst driving..
I would’ve overtook him and got out of harms way but my XPower was low on charge…

I feel safer staying behind someone like that.

The mk2 (mine was 2012) with the 1.4 petrol, being turbocharged and supercharged meant zero lag and the DSG box was so smooth, if it wasn't for the sound of the engine and the rev counter movement you wouldn't have known it had changed gear.

Ah, right. Mine was the mk1 Fabia vRS diesel. Probably the first diesel hot hatch as such. Modded to 180 bhp. A very nice motor! One of only a few cars I actually regretted selling.

It’s actually quite dangerous I think. You get used to your car and know what gaps you can and can’t slip into. Going to switch lanes or overtake and suddenly losing half the car’s power is a recipe for disaster. Already caught me out on the motorway when i put it into sport and went nowhere when planting my foot.

Exactly my view on this.

Turbo Petrol cars (never owned a diesel, because, well you know... ) get faster when it gets colder and wetter.

I could put up with it if the car told you.

I will say, I was probably one of the only people to drive the IONIQ 5n and think "heh, not as fast as I expected" so I'm probably not the person to ask, nice chassis though.

I'm moving to comfort instead of speed next, that being said the LR IM5 does have a higher top speed, and it pulls better than the XPOWER above [speed redacted].

Well seeing as the fastest car I've ever owned was a mk2 Fabia vRS, 180bhp and a 0 to 60 of 7.5s, I'm expecting to feel a big difference with the XPower.

They are/were quicker than that. I had one, too. It's closer to 6.5 than 7.5. That said, the X-Power is clearly levels above...

How much to put this suffering XPower in a box and mail it to me

I'm guess the problem more relates to the UK version not having the heat pump, so the battery isn't being kept up to the required temp for full current draw without damaging it .....
If they ever make a Sodium Ion battery upgrade for the XPower, that would solve the problem because they can handle a much lower temperature and still deliver the full output.

Is there a way to turn battery heating on before you leave work for the trip home and see if that fixes the power cut problem when home is in sight ....

The drop off in power is a lot less than me, with a few adjustments.

Set the Geographical Coordinates to 28°48'24.4"S 153°16'38.3"E

The Battery then is warmer and less power loss.

Hope you don't mind me saying that if you are relying on 100% performance in any car on the road then you are not a safe driver. While I do like the performance I do not assume it will be there. I still drive well within the limits of my previous car which would do 0-100kph in a bit over 7 secs but would also get under 4l/100km on a trip. The XPower is a step up but I usually keep it within the envelope of the base car. I really do not want to waste tyres, brakes and points on my license.

I agree. I like my LR Trophy because I can use all the performance and stay under the legal limit. If I had an XPower I would probably be frustrated how little I could use the full power, although I do get it would be enormous fun.

I was sort of wondering about using the full potential of an XPower on frosty slippery roads, our poverty pack 51 can get a bit sketchy in the wet, I wouldn't fancy getting heavy footed with it on any road that could have ice on it ..... but maybe our roads aren't quite up to scratch compared to UK roads .... I'm not sure I could find a piece of road in Aust where I could reach the XPower built in vibrator function and:
A) keep my licence
B) actually identify if the vibration was something in the car or just the fact I was touching down on the tops of the unique road drainage features just about every hwy surface seem to develop after the A double and quad trailer trucks have used them for a while.

I guess it helps that the road surface doesn't get as hot over there, some of the bigger trucks have to be very careful not to tear the bitumen up as they lug up the big hills on a hot day .....
They delivered our 40 ft containers today, they had to wait until after 5pm to allow the road to cool a bit so the truck and triaxle trailer didn't rip the road up as they jack knifed the rig to get it lined up to through the gates .... the containers are empty .....

Agree. Have to admit I do like to give my
X Power the beans. (Else why get one)
But definitely only when safe to do so.
Clear, dry roads, etc. (Sunday morning is good) also drive, to my own ability.
Had a few do's, with other cars, (come on, we all have) but let them go, when I can see they are prepared to go to silly speeds.
