Hello and thank you for allowing me to join, I'm looking to buy new a mgzs trophy long range but without the live smart and Amazon, my nearest dealership in Hull are quoting me £34,690 for this car in red, which is a little over my budget, so thought I would ask members of their opinions and indeed they consider this a good price,or should I shop around,I'm quite willing to travel if the price is right, I'm not NHS or services nor is any member of my family,so that discount route is not an option.
Thank you

Hi there and welcome to the forum. The wait for the ZS Trophy is about 6 months as far as I can tell. You could try some of the online dealerships who might be cheaper. I ordered mine through JustEV's. They are showing a ZS Trophy for £30,995. Some ex demos at dealerships are going for more than a brand new one!

Good luck. :)

That's the list price as far as I can see, so no...there's no deal being offered there. If they're sticking with that, then you've got nothing to lose by shopping around. Good news is that you have options - especially if you're willing to ring around:
  • There are online dealerships aplenty (if you go that route check whom the car would be first registered to as well as their history)
  • Existing offer on this site (not a big discount & you may have to factor in delivery, but you get a type 2 cable): For Sale - Chorley Group - MG ZS EV - Q2 2022 (Apr - Jun) Offers
  • If you're a Costco member, look into the Auto programme! (might stack with PCP deposit offer, but I can't recall)
  • Maybe check out this thread...absolutely no shame in calling the dealers where orders have been cancelled, and asking what their best price is as well as potentially shortening the wait if you're flexible on colour: MG ZS EV Facelift - Have you cancelled?
  • If you're buying outright, see which models still have the manufacturer £1.5k finance contribution. There is a possibility to buy on PCP and get the discount and then settle the balance in full so your interest is minimal. You'd have to read the Ts & Cs and do your own homework on that, but I believe some have gone/will go that route.

Usual information,many thanks,I will investigate.

Have a look at Nathaniel Cars Bridgend, they are advertising a white one at £30,495 brand new on Autotrader, with red paint I would expect around 31k?

Has anybody enquired about this? For that price I guess it must have done some mileage or be on a 71 plate etc?

I just bought from Nathaniel and they seem to randomly advertise standard priced cars then when you ring them they will tell you what they have available if any

I just ordered from Nathaniel, brand new factory order for the prices listed on Autotrader 4-6months leadtime (although I'm expecting longer). Really quick and easy and a pleasure to do business with. I'd been to a dealership near me previously and the chap I spoke to knew nothing about the cars, really unhelpful.

I was lucky and managed to snag one of their last stock cars a few weeks back, I was told they are the biggest dealer in the UK and seem to get the most stock sent to them

They said they delivered 775 MG's in Q1 (not sure what % were EV), so if they're well supplied it could bode well for you.

Local govt?

Yes,I have ordered my trophy from them in red, just short of £31,000
I believe, a big saving on my nearest dealership in Hull.
So pleased you were able to find a better deal! Nice colour choice too

Thank you, have to say that without the forum I would have stayed local but got a cracking deal, so train to Cardiff from Yorkshire, I knew that senior rail card would come in handy ??
The bonus is you get to have a real good run of it on your drive home! I was prepared to travel a long distance if needed, but fortunately found somewhere within a couple of hours reach.

Don't let them forget your type-2 cable if they agreed to include it, and if they're being decent it should be fully charged too. Enjoy
