Hi everybody,
I would like to hear your opinion about the exaggerated energy consumption I am experimenting since last few months. I've driven a second hand 2023 standard edition MG4 since last june: during the last summer the battery autonomy was very similar to the declared one (more than 300 km (>186 mi). I used the car for a quite long journey in September and I experimented terrible consumption on the motorway (no more than 200 km - 124 mi).
Since October, probably due to the cold weather, the energy consumption has became simply mad: it gets sticked to the maximum value (29.8 kWh/100 km - 2.09 mi/kWh) for the first 15 km (9-10 mi), after that it begin to lower slowly, but it always remain very much higher than before: the mean consumption for a journey of 20 km (12.4 mi) is now 28.9 kWh/100 km (2.15 mi/kWh) and for 40 km (24.85 mi) 22.9 kWh/100 km (2.71 mi/kWh). I noticed the problem might be related to the air eating (my model does not have the heat pump) since when I tried to immediately shut down the A/C at the start and drive without it for some km the power consumption was much lower. If I shut down the A/C after driving a few km, anyway, the power consumption remains still very high.
I have an old firmware version (MPU SWI69-29958-1100R21 - MCU 69.3.5.0) and know that the temperature management is terrible with this version.
Do you think this is the normal power consumption in winter for the MG4? Do anyone experimented the same issue?
Thank you.
