MG4
I was just connecting up to charge my car and I was approached by a guy and asked if I could help him to charge his car. He had a brand new MG4 but was at 18% of his original charge. I got mine connected, while showing him (John) what I was doing. I then helped him to download the Chargefox App to his phone and set it up with a debit card. Then while I was waiting I showed him a few things about his new car. We set up the Android Auto and ran the charging cable through the rubber mat. Then played with the Plug Share App to find other charging options. Next we did some Text & Phone using the Voice Control as well as operating Google Maps.

At this stage I think John's head was full, so I gave him my number in case he needs more help and also told him about this place. I said it is a friendly forum where people will help him to get the best from his new car. I think that is a fairly good description.

My charge ended and we got his car connected. He went off to grab a cup of tea. I showed him how he can keep track of the charge and to get back when it's close to a finish as there are idle fees. I pointed out again how to unlock the charger and wished him luck.

He is home now and I hope he will be here himself soon. Assuming he arrives OK, please make him feel welcome. I think he will have a few more questions.

I find most ev drivers at charge points are generally quite nice and helpful people. The only exception I’ve seen was a bunch of (suspected) ride share drivers acting like they owned the rapid chargers near the CBD on a Friday night. Using the ACROD bay and staring people down when they think they have enough charge.

I’ve been known to come across as intimidating to some so thankfully they left me alone, but it was disgusting behaviour nonetheless.

Nowadays I mostly charge at home with a granny anyway.

Folk queuing, jostling and arguing in a petrol station would just not get this!!
I've found I'm chatting to folk I've never met before at charging stations, sharing tips and any frustrations - mostly how to get the chargers to work if there's a newbie at the charger!
The whole thing is just so much calmer and stressless!!

I have to agree. I have met the the most friendly, chatty and helpful people at public charging stations. It usually starts with "I would'nt use that one .... or some other tip .... and then we chat about the car and themselves 😊👍. All very civilised and friendly.
