MG for weather app location incorrect

Hi everyone I have an MG for had some difficulties with it after it been set back to factory settings. After that I found the weather location was a roundabout 4 miles away from my hometown picked up a town just outside Oxfordshire can anyone help me sort this problem so it finds the right town and constantly synchronises I find it doesn’t synchronise All the time.

Since about end of October, I'm having the same issue. The weather app states not my location, but a place about 5 miles away. If I drive somewhere, it changes location but is still about 5 miles away.
Ideas?

I had a Trophy as a courtesy car a couple of weeks ago, and much the same thing. Weather always for Halmyre Mains, which come to think of it is about five miles away.

+1.Ours has a fixation with Maro first thing in the morning, which is about 15km along the coast from here.

Apparently google maps in China is shifted so the exact locations on satellites imagery don’t match the real world, sounds like maybe SAIC forgot we don’t do that in the western world haha

fascinating, my son is a surveyor in California so I’ve copied the article over to him.
He’s surveyed in UK, EU and Japan. I’ll post any info he might add.

My MG4 Trophy's weather app was showing a location a few miles away until last weekend. Since then it has just been showing the location as unknown, no matter how many times I refresh the app, and even if I reboot the system!

I don't use the weather app in the car much to be honest, but this is a bit annoying! Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks, that's what I hoped, but I've driven quite a bit in the last few days, and I'm still in the land of the unknown!

I’ve read that you only get 1GB of data in the UK per month (don’t know if that’s the same here down under) could it be you’ve used up your data and now it struggles to load quick enough? You’d think you’d be alright at the beginning of a month though..

That's a good point. The first thing that my son does when he gets in the car (well the second thing, the first is to turn off the lane keeping assist, I've got him well trained!) is to connect to the car's wi-fi, so he might well be using a fair bit of data with whatever he's doing.
