HS (2025+)
I had the HS+ go into limp mode on the M55 09/10/2025, manged to turn round and head for Perrys MG Preston only for the car come to complete stop. AA lifted the car and took me to the dealers in Preston and then to pick up a car hire car. Was informed that the repair would be 2 to 3 days and not covered by warrenty. After 2 weeks of of waiting I got verbally nasty with MG customer services. Outcome was they took over rhe hire of the car. Finally got the car back on 26th Octavia 2025. Overall outcome was a new radiator fitted and a invoice of £483 together with car hire price of £709. On looking at the lower front grill there are large gaps between the horizontal bits of plastic so much so that I am getting a roll of rad grill and will fit it to the lower grill of the car. MG insist it isn't a design fault!!!

This has also happened to me. 1400 bill still not got car back after over 2 weeks. Have now gone to finance company to complain as MG. UK said not covered by Warrenty. Design of bumper not for for purpose in my view. We need more people to come forward if this has happened to them.

I don't quite understand what the problem was. Was the radiator broken? Were the hoses leaking? Could you describe it in more detail? Maybe with a picture. How else are we supposed to know what was wrong?

Unfortunately David hasn't been back since his first post, so we may never know.

Sorry for not relying earlier had a few hectic days. In answer to Totti1001 yes the radiator was punctured. MG classed it as non warranty and it has cost a lot of money to get it fixed. Here is a copy of an email that I have sent to MG Customer Service but as I thought have not had a reply or even read receipt.

Ref MR HS Hybrid + Registration Number *******.

The above mention vehicle was purchased outright by myself on 18/07/25 as a new vehicle.
On 09/10/25 the car broke down whilst travelling on the M55 (punctured radiator), I managed to get to the outskirts of Preston on my way to Perrys Preston. The AA attended to me and lifted the car and proceeded to Perrys.
At Perrys I was told they had no courtesy cars available and the AA transported me to Thrifty car rental where I was given a courtesy car for two days
Following several calls to MG customer services and assurance that the car would be repaired within two to three days, I therefor had to extend the car rental at my own cost.
After days of phoning Perrys and MG Customer Services I was finally informed that a new radiator wasn’t in stock and that it had to come from China. MG finally took over the cost of the car rental after I had paid £709.
This rental continued until 29/10/25 when I was finally informed that the car was repaired and the cost would be £482.94.
The total cost to myself was £1191.94, for which I have again documentary evidence.
Upon collecting the car, I decided to look at the radiator grills and found that the design of the lower grills had large gaps between the horizontal bars of the grills.
I have now taken the discission to purchase a radiator grill sheet and fit to reduce the gaps to a relative size to prevent further damage.
As you will appreciate, I am totally disgusted with the way I have been treated and my faith in MG is at a very low level. If it wasn’t for the fact that I would lose several thousand pounds I would sell the car and purchase a different make.
