But you are not comparing apples to apples. Go check the lease deals on IM 5 standard range. It will be much cheaper than the ID7, with more technology and more options as standard. Build and depreciation is of no concern as it is a lease and will go back to the lease company.
X power is a car for those who crave performance and acceleration...you get no where near that speed with ID7, if you are to settle for an MG 4 with same speed as ID7...then go for mg4 LR lease and again it will be ay least a hundred quids cheaper to lease per month...I am sorry, but these are pointless comparison. You settled for a vehicle that suits your needs, taste, badge preference and budget,,good for you, yet the comparison and financial argument makes n sense what's so ever
A couple of points if you look @JonnyG post you will see it is an ID7 gtx that was posted so there is no comparison with the IM5 short range as it is 4 wheel drive goes faster, further and accelerates faster than the standard range so the comparison would be the long range and even then that isn't 4 wheel drive.

And as the post says he is replacing an X Power with the the ID 7 so comparing the costs, which is what he did, is entirely relevant. He wasn't comparing performance with the X Power.

Then we would be comparing ID7 to the IM5 performance... Again , still cheaper on a lease and much faster and better options...

And matching the lease deals for upfront payment, 3 month, 36 month term and 10k milage these are the figures...
Pretty much same price for the lease .. but the IM5 performance bags loads more power, acceleration and standard options

Best I'm getting is £499 for 10k miles on 4yr business lease through a scheme. Nothing up front. Or £608 if I include insurance, but that's more personal.
Still got 13 months left on my XPower anyway, should probably stop looking.

mmmm... I think you're well wrong on that score but lets not fall out about it 😊😉

Let’s forget spec for now (but I think you underestimate how well specced the ID7 GTX is) and just concentrate on personal lease costs, bearing in mind the ID7 GTX is worth around £60,000 Retail Price.

My lease cost is on a two year 3x23 at £445.21 a month (inc VAT) and including metallic paint. There were no broker fees so the total cost over two years is £445.21 x 26 = £11,576. That works out as an overall average of £482.31 per month allowing for the 3 months upfront initially.

In your example above you have attached the incorrect deal for the ID7 GTX. I posted my deal in my post above. It was on offer in July when I ordered it. The attachment is there to see.

Your IM5 Performance Lease Deal you have attached is £589.43 per month (inc. VAT) with an upfront payment of £1768.30 (3 months) plus a £349.99 Arrangement Fee. You state a three year lease for the IM5 so the total cost over 36 months on a 3x35 lease would be (£589.43 x 38) + the £349.99 Arrangement Fee = £22,748 That works out at an overall monthly average monthly payment of £631.90 over 36 months

So the ID7 GTX is an average of £482.31 per month and the IM5 performance is £631.90 per month.

I think it’s pretty clear which is the better value lease.

I’m not going to get into the car and the spec as that is completely personal and each to their own. I accept the performance of the IM5 will trounce the GTX in a straight line (but I’ve had my fun in my Xpower for two years) and now wanted a motorway cruiser with good comfort and good range (365 miles) which is why I personally went for the VW ID7 GTX. On spec I think you’ll be surprised how good the GTX is if you look into it..

I totally get you liking and wanting an IM5 but please don’t state it is better value on a personal lease before doing a little more fact checking. My post above was quite transparent on the deal I got.

Every reviewer including die hard petrolheads like Chris Harris have all given it a big thumbs up 👍

There's plenty of YouTube videos of Misha driving one round the Nürburgring and it looked a real weapon and lasted the laps.

I'm sure the ICCU issues affecting early cars will now have been sorted hopefully.

I was very tempted by this offer too as it's a nice short 18 month lease (for best value). It's even cheaper now than when I ordered my ID7.

Colours are a bit extra though although the standard red is OK.

Next best after yours above is :-

Similar issue to the longer range MG4s with the CCU failures you can get a bad batch, doesn't happen to every car
True but it happens to a lot of I5s. I see at least 1 post every day of a ICCU failure and of 12v battery failures. I have had my I5 for 4 years and had 2 ICCU failures and 2 12v battery failures. Would not buy another one as I cannot trust the car to work!

Sadly I had 12V battery failures on my Hyundai Kona in 2019 and to this day they have denied it, despite thousands of owners (including high-profile ones like Robert Llewellyn) reporting it! It's the reason we sold it 18 months later and bought a Polestar 2 which never let us down. This is why I'm not looking at Hyundai or Kia for our next car...

Whats your thoughts on the polestar
