Really hope so, my worry (having ordered an IM6) is that this isn't a new car, so if a software update was a solution I'd have expected that to have happened by now. As I understand it the IM5 and IM6 were first released (in some territories / China) in 2023 (happy to be corrected if that's wrong).

IM6 was released in China in 2023. September 2024 there was a facelift; this is the one we get.
In China OTAs are happening already. It is MG UK that has cold feet about it. Apparently they have now started trials on OTAs and the IMs will be the first to receive during 2026.

No; no guarantee whatsoever indeed.
Auto headlights should be fixable though with update since the Chinese version has it.
As for the one pedal driving China is going away of it so I cannot see it happening.
The car though does regen when you use the break pedal; the likes of BYD. It is just adjusting to a different style of driving.
Not fussed about one pedal driving as I do not use it. However, I would like to have the option to adjust the regen and have an auto option like the Ioniq 5. Could not see any info that using the brake pedal on the IM6 initially uses regenb.

Most of these are complains from someone well used to the Tesla ecosystem.
Nothing that future updates cannot fix to be honest.
Nearly all the complaints were about software. Which can be altered. Nearly none of the complaints were about driving and transport of occupants. I personally buy my cars to drive me the places I want, not pressing buttons. It is a transport medium. Which is why I don't like Teslas. Good at the software (which I don't really need), and bad at the transportation part, which is pri no 1.

However, there is no guarantee any of these faults will be fixed and no auto headlights or auto dim is a woeful error! Moreover, the SW is extremely important in any modern car and especially one like the IM6 as if effects everything about driving the car.

When I test drove it hitting the break I could see energy being reclaimed.

Having driven an older model 3 and having now driven a Highland, they are night and day in terms of drive and refinement.
The Highland 3 has come on leaps and bounds.

No stalks and no driver screen used to put me off but stalks are back and enhance have now released an aftermarket screen

However, no guarantee that any of them will be fixed.
Past experience with the likes of even the lowly MG4 suggests there will be a lot of software updates with a lot of fixes. That won't happen overnight but it will happen.
We already know that auto headlights and auto dim don’t work and that the regen level is woeful.
Regen is somewhat a personal preference, some people like OPD-style, some people like much less. It is probably less likely to change.

Autolights and dimming I would expect to be sorted out in time.

You are right but the software is completely reworked for European cars, so the software side is much less mature than you'd think. We have had the same thing with other MGs.

The Tesla M3 has been refined for the UK market for about 7 years now. I am confident the IMs will improve quickly, but they need to be given some time to demonstrate that.

Totally agree was more a reply to the member who said they were bad at the transportation part.
The Highland has completely changed that
