That's good to hear. I hadn't heard much talk about the handling from owners so it was always possible it was an issue, but I am not surprised if it is reviewer nonsense.

Quite often reviewers say things like: "It is as fast as a Lamborghini but doesn't handle like one!" No 💩 Sherlock!
Had mine for a month now, ride is superb at all speeds. On motorway it’s silent and drives well. It’s a heavy car on cross country roads the car still performs well ( even on poor road surfaces).

What I find with these reviewers is that they expect that a 2.4 tone SUV will drive and feel like a pure sports car just because it has 750 bhp. This is not the case...

Totally agree. 🙂👍

I have ordered the Long Range iM6..

To see reviews like this is a little disconcerting..

Are there any really good reviews out there?

Are there any steps being taken by MG, to address the many reports regarding handling and the suspension / steering?

If my vehicle is due to arrive next May, are there likely to be any changes to the physical aspects of the car, such as those mentioned above, to deal with UK roads?

I am willing this to be a good car, but is that not going to be the case? As it has the potential to be amazing!

It's a massive high riding heavy car, what do they expect it to handle like

That's a good question.

I am very skeptical when I hear "can't handle the power", it usually means they got wheelspin which is really rather guaranteed with 750bhp.

Sometimes I think they expect max throttle on any corner at any speed to be drama-free.

Some of the best cars give you plenty of drama... 😁😛

Depends on what you expect for the car.
This is a heavy SUV prioritising comfort. If you expect it that it will take corners like a sports car and that you will 'feel' the road through the steering wheel you will be massively disappointed.

I have the car for 11 days now. Simply love it. I drive it on ECO where the steering is the lightest possible. No issues with having a feel of where the wheels are on the road.
Deadly quiet and amazingly agile for its size thanks to the rear wheel steering.
Software does need some improvements; mainly the fact that the dashboard lighting is not functioning on auto (thus having it on dark all the time) and the auto high beams not being activated as they are in China.
It is also a rather thirsty beast but I was expecting this having the Launch version.

On the other hand it is super comfortable, luxurious and bang for buck the best car in its category in the market. I am not exaggerating on this. The level of equipment for its price is unbelievable.

Drive the car for yourself. Ask for extended test drive if possible. I would avoid relying on these so called reviewers.
I find that the majority of them are click baiters, always trying to find something negative about the car under review; especially if it is Chinese.
You're absolutely right about the value for money..

I've priced up a couple of other cars, and by the time you add half of what this one has, the price is a great deal higher..

I understand what everyone says about it being a big heavy car, but there are other heavy cars out there, that can still handle well, but you have to pay considerably more (double) to get that. So it has to be put into perspective..

Also, I don't think anyone is going to buy it to throw it around country lanes.. That's not what it is designed to do..

It seems that if you want a VERY quiet luxury cruiser, that has a good turn of speed, great maneuverability and some nice tech features, this is the car to beat!

Does anyone have any comments on the sound system in the iM6?

It has 20 speakers, but what mark out of 10 would you give it, after it has been "tweaked"?

Is the sound system something that could be improved over time by software, or is it more hardware-dependent. I know the hardware must be good to start with, but can software be tweaked to improve the sound, if there was a need?

The sound system is pretty good but is let down by ( in my opinion) an absolutely rubbish radio. DAB fails to get a decent signal and reverts to FM which to be honest isn’t much better. I’m not sure if it’s an Ariel or software problem - but it needs sorting. Spotify, CarPlay etc plays perfectly with great sound reproduction.

Very subjective this. For me per se the sound system is really good. But then again I am not what you would call an afficionado of sound systems quality 😄
Hi Nik, I’m pleased to hear that yours is working well. Mine unfortunately, as stated above produces great sound through Spotify, car play etc, but the DAB & FM radio is appalling, if yours is working well it may well just be an Ariel problem with my car.

I am wondering if there might be radio regional settings somewhere that need changing to Europe? Has anyone looked into this?

Hopefully it is not a problem with the aerial, some Chinese cars have had poor quality aerial problems in the past.

Also, there's a home-grown variant of DAB used in the China which it might be optimsed for.

Apologies, I need to clarify on this so I am not giving any wrong information.
My comments were for the sound system only regarding it's quality sound wise.
I have not tested the DAB/FM system in any way since I am constantly using Spotify.
I will test it tomorrow and update accordingly.

I’ve had a good look around the system and can’t find anything I can change for region / country with regard to radio signal. It’s strange, if you use search on DAB it finds and lists all the usual available stations - it just has a mare trying to actually play any with reasonable clarity.! You can in a very high signal area get a half decent sound quality, travelling around however is a totally different story.

Think we all have different expectations of a car's music system. To be honest I only listen to the radio (Smooth FM) 🙄 in my X Power and it's actually very good. To me anyway. Remember spending about 2 grand once on a system, professionally fitted, looked good and sounded good, but not fantastic, considering the price. Only did it once. More than happy with the cars OE music system. But as said, that's just me. 🙂👍

Hi all,

One think that I miss from my Tesla is the ability to watch netflix while I am waiting for the kids to finish the gazillion things that they go for....
I am a bit of a luddite so could you please suggest how can I have these apps? Or a usb plugin thinkie that I could use?
That's a good question Nik, I'd be very interested to know more about app availability too, particularly, in addition to Netflix, if Audible and YouTube are available (I have seen the YouTube icon on the infotainment screen in reviews but interested to hear user experiences (while parked)).

Hi Salty, I have no problem with the quality of the sound system, it just appears ( to me) that there is a problem with the radio - it just isn’t up to the job with regard to picking up a decent signal.

I found a couple of AI boxes on Amazon, not sure about compatibility though. Will dig further.
Regarding the inbuilt YouTube I watched a couple of videos, quality of sound and picture is very good. Wary though of the fact that the car comes with 1GB per month which I bet will vaporise watching videos.
Better to use the phone as a hot spot on this case.

I had read about this issue on DAB before I got my car. However, my DAB seems no different to the one in my Ioniq 5 which worked well.
