Bloody hell these so called youtube 'reviewers'.
Just seen another one last night; not going to put a link since I don't think the guy deserves a single view.
Sets the car on sport mode; keeps bashing it around and then complains about the brakes which he obviously left on default settings (comfort).
Then jumps on the conclusion that the car is dangerous...
I comment that he needs to set the brakes on sport too and carries on that the car is unfit for purpose and that I have not taken a car like this on track day!!
Like people will buy the IM6 for track days ***....

Fed up with this; take a car for like 10 minutes; not bother to actually look into the car functions and then try and influence people.
I am starting to understand why BYD is taking people to the courts now....

Track use invalidates the warranty anyway; it is about as far removed from track use as a car can be designed to be.

Reviewers get more eyeballs with clickbait headlines. A review that slates a car as dangerous will earn them more money. The good ones don't do that; but there are many that are not good.

They do this indeed. Problem is that people are influenced by these so called reviews.
Then when the affected company takes the legal road they complain about freedom of press/speech etc lol.
I am just fed up with people being in position to state whatever they want regardless of how clueless they are....Sign of our times I guess...(sound like my dad now heh).

Well in fairness MG needs a little breather from orders anyway. Availability is key now. Long waits kill reputation and lose long-term customers more than some crappy review. The number of positive ones outweigh any negatives.

Right. So after some very thorough digging through Chinese sites, forums etc I found the following:
If someone could tell me what the brand of the roof bars is :)

Hi Nick I think they are indeed Thule, if so they come over the top of the car and fix to the bodywork above the door. Nip in to Halfords, they stock all the different Thule roof bars and different fixings, they will be able to advise which part number fits ( then you can go online and see who does them the cheapest 🤣😂)

Will try and do this. I am not so sure they will be helpful though. Neighbour of mine with the Dacia Spring went over and they told him that the car is not on our lists as roof bar compatible so we cannot help you....
He got a cruz one online which fits perfectly based on user recommendations.

Try Roof Bars from The Roof Box Company . They are online only but very helpful and responsive to queries.

Just had a look on the Thule site - im6 is listed but no fittings yet approved

Will try and go over to Halfords next week and see if I can get anything out of them. nothing available online at the moment. It seems none wants to take the risk of suggesting something.

One more thing I wanted to raise yesterday and run out of time. The last couple of days I had a really annoying creaking sound coming from the interior of the car. I was under the impression it was from the B pillar on driver's site.
Gave a good squeeze on various plastics around that area; no joy. Lubricated the door seals; made no difference whatsoever.
As I went home yesterday I opened the door and starting checking again. Then I noticed the end of the plastic clip at the bottom of the door. Squeezed it gently and it creaked....Put some foam tape around it and hoped for the best.
Voila, problem solved.

I am attaching a photo for clarity.

Just read on lamebook that OTA has been scheduled for Australia release.
First patch in April and second in September.
Link is here:

No idea how to copy info on the phone.
Quite a few improvements with sentry and pet mode included.

Sentry mode is great! Just a waste of cameras atm, keyless entry thank god. Doubt we will get pet mode in the UK from what I was told from IM.

Wonder where they got the information from? And how we can check when and what info we will get in the UK

Apparently a beta test already takes place in Australia with a limited number of owners.
I can't see why we can't get pet mode tbh.
I wouldn't put trust on info from dealers. No complaints from where I ended up buying mine but my local one was oblivious at least. And I am being polite now.
Furthermore the last couple of days I have spent a lot of time on Chinese sites looking for info on roof bars.
The amount of applications and advanced software systems the car has in China is unbelievable.
We are getting short charged....the car can do far more things.

On a side note, 100k already sold in China.

Really! What else can it do in China?

I had a look for bars myself for you but couldn't find any either.

I got told about the Pet mode from the head of IM in the UK. He said the car has to have it already due to testing or some rubbish, other manufacturers have done it, the only cars that will have it are new ones that will come with it

I don’t think so - it’s in the system and just needs to be activated, I think you’ll see it appear some time this year ! Hopefully with some other updates that we all want 🤔

Pet mode, camp mode, centry mode. Lock and unlock on proximity.
Parking and unparking through the app the likes of Tesla summon.
Self driving on motorway and cities.
Amongst others...

Roof bars wise apparently Thule wingbar with the 7205 footings.
