MG introduce their own "EV Grant"

That's good news, but even if you got the full £3,750 gov grant and MGs £1,500 grant, that's still "only" £5,250.
MGS5s have been selling for more than 10 grand off recently. And no doubt MG4s
too.

That would be nice in Aust, $10,500 AUD off an XPower, yes please .... they are selling for $50,000 AUD at the moment, $40,000 on the road .... they's be lined up like they did when Windows 95 hit the shelves

Agree. Don't get me wrong £5,250 off full retail is still nice. But think there are even better deals, to be had. If you shop around. 🙂👍

The UK Government as far as I'm aware will NOT be giving any grants for Chineses car makers, due to their lack manufacturing green credentials ! Hence why MG are offering up to £2,500 off.

So if that's true. The big announcement.
Was a bit of a damp squib, then. Considering how many Chinese EVs are sold here. 🙄🤪

Still offering €9000 grant, so nearly £8000 for EVs here which in essence is being funded by the EU. Got my rebate in my bank account a couple of weeks ago.

MG in the UK have been running an affinity program for a long time. This allows certain individuals to receive a discount on the list price due to their membership in specific groups or their employer. Being a member of the MG owners' club for over 3 months is one of the available options.

This discount is one of the reasons for MG dealers being able to offer such low prices via their auto trade listing. It also allows MG to change the affinity discount and then declare new discounts that do not really change the overall prices being quoted.

All the Govt grant will do is reduce the amount of discount car makers offer.

As mentioned much better deals available anyway so the grant will just reduce the amount of loss the manufacturers have to stomach, the buyer wont see it.

Just ordered a MGS5 great discount and interest free PCP I have to say at this cost the car is absolute bargain there maybe better deals out there but I’m very happy and a great trade in price on mg3 hybrid that’s just over a year old and has been excellent just to small for me.
