Hey Guys,
So I mad the fatal mistake of letting the main battery (HV) run out on the way to a charger. Note to all.... when the range says 0 miles, it really does mean 0 Miles
When you run out it looses power to all drive functions including ABS, Gear selection and so on. It does let you coast in Neutral. I managed to pull into a layby and get the AA to recover me.
While loading onto the Dolly the Gear box selected Park. Once we got to the charger the car wouldnt select anything and even lost the led lights in the gear selector.
I think it was maybe the motion rocking the gearbox.
Anyway after a 2 hour search for the park release we finally found it.
The original documents only show the manual on that doesnt exist on the LR and further. You need to remove the electric solenoid on top of the selector module. Its located to the right of the main motor.
Once released the gearbox will be in Neutral then you can release the handbrake and role the car around.
I have attached a few photos to show location and the solenoid itself.
Hope this comes in handy to someone.
