I apologise if this topic has been resolved, but being new to the MG community site I may well have missed it.
I am very confused in my quest.
MG dealer simply tell me there is NO spare available and just rely on the AA.
That's not good enough for me.
Some spares available on line but only up to 2021 model.
I can't work out what the difference in fit would be.
Has anyone tracked down an emergency spare with tools for the latest 2022 model.
I would be most grateful for a solution

Hi @Pontyboy and welcome 🙏.
Yes - You are totally correct, the save saver issue for the face lifted ZE EV has been covered extensively.
Quick search 🔍 will provide a plethora of info on this subject !.
Semi condensed version:-
There is a small discrepancy between the tyre size on the Gen 1 and Gen 2 models of the ZS EV but the difference is so small, that the space saver from the Gen 1 would be suitable to use on the Gen 2 model.
I have the MG space saver kit from my Gen 1 now in the boot of my Gen 2.
They are expensive to buy from the main dealer now at over £250.00.
I bought mine way back in 2019 and only paid a bit more than half of that price !.
Keep your eye on the “For Sale” items on the forum, as they do pop up from time to time.
There is E.Bay of course.
Some owners have gone for using space savers from the VAG group, which will fit just fine, but you will also require four VW wheel bolts, to suit the VW rim.
The countersink angle is difference on the VW rim.
The MG kit comes with the boot inlay foam, wheel brace, jack etc.
Hope this helps answer your question.

Elsewhere on the forum I have seen comment that the VAG countersink bolts are not necessary for the very limited mileage you will drive on the space saver.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a scissor jack or even better a bottle jack?

I will follow your advice and seek out space saver from the earlier model.

There will be some ZS EV owners, who bought the space saver kits for the original model, then either sold on their cars, or got feed up of waiting for the Gen2 model, or switched out their orders for an MG4.
Then the redundant space saver kits get advertised on the forum.
Put a “Wanted” add on the forum and you may get lucky !.

Thanks for that.
I'm curious what the not compatible with the I.E is as mentioned in the add !

They do a separate product for the Internal Combustion Engine variant
I would just drop them a message and ask them to clarify the facts.
As the advert conflicts itself.
It states fits all models from 2017 which would imply its suitable for an ICE model ?.
Then above states it is suitable for the EV model, which was only released in 2019.
Oh ...... It's a second hand rim also and it has no inlay foam.

I agree, always best to check

Thanks for ALL the multitude of info.
Now completely mind boggled for the correct decision.
Too many confusing decisions to make.
Thought this would be easy to resolve.
Just wanted a spare wheel in my new car.

Here is a video explaining how to install it.

Hi, i just bought a 17 inch aluminum rim with a studless winter tyre at my nearest tyre pusher. I just checked that the rim really did fit both front and rear after i got i, just to be sure. I bought it because i gave up trying to buy a real spare. It is a bit bigger than a spare but that is ok..
