I recon that there will be a new model out by the time I get mine??

If it’s any consolation, we’ll probably not see any new models until the end of 23 anyways, which would be the norm anyway, there’s a new car every yr

I'm thinking of chucking the towel in on the lr and getting a sr. just depends on what the dealer can provide. oh hum.

That’s why I think the new models shouldnt really be out till end of 2023 by the time all the current orders are fulfilled due to the lack of components. I dont think it’s good practice for MG to start manufacturing new model cars before fulfilling existing orders! Otherwise the cancellations will follow like a tsunami and their predicted sales and revenue will plummet because unless we’ve got the car and keys in our hand there is no sale of anything.

Hard to understand what’s going on. They’re still actively pushing the ZS EV (makes sense as they still want a flow of orders) and the 5 (despite supposedly being offsale).

Vanarama rang earlier. They've been assured by MG that my car will definitely, most probably, almost likely, be here in September.

Vanarama called me too.... chose their words carefully.... "We can confirm not before September for UK delivery" and then added if they were delivered late on in September then I might not get it until mid October!

They cited lockdowns in Shanghai as the reason in the accompanying text message I got!

This is info from the dealer they are using as far as I can tell rather than MG themselves!

I think we should all realize by now that MG Batch Build and that MG UK have been saying for some time that ZS EV's are on Shortage meaning certain componant parts are not available.
When all parts are available they will setup a production line and produce 800-1000 cars/day, from this start day we need to add 2-3 months delivery to uk dealers. This means if they start next week (unlikely) it will be July-Sept before the majority of our orders are fulfilled.
From yesterdays Podcast it would appear that all the cars delivered to date are from the Launch Production Batch built July-Aug 21. The few cars that are making there way to the UK now are cars that were destined for other RHD countries.
With the MG4 and maybe Meteor available to order Q4 2022 anyone having second thoughts.

I feel for the poor beggars that don't even know this forum exists, with no idea how MG operates - probably in the dark. I do need my car ASAP, but I also know the industry has issues. The problem is the communication seems to be a total crapshoot...I shouldn't have to listen to a podcast to get some form of reliable intel. Whine over ?

Thanks to those who contribute to this thread with any tidbits they find out ? . Without you I'd have little clue what's going on, and Ship Watch 2022 is what helps to keep this amusing.

You may be joking, but I've been looking out for any whisper of one at foreign motor shows. Getting the mk3 user manual before even getting my mk2 car may yet come to pass

My dealership has informed me now that they will get back to me when they here anything from MG. They won't even give an estimated date of delivery anymore.
I had to contact them for an update.
Ordered 13th January at Hendy MG Exeter.

My wife overtook a transporter of red, white and black MG ZS on the M5 heading north earlier. It got off at J14 so was probably heading for the Wickwar dealership which is close by. Mostly ICE but there was at least one EV in red!

So apparently mg redditch have had a delivery today, my dad went there to sort out for his mg5 and he said looks like lots of zs were there on a transporter. Sadly I haven’t had a call yet ?

I'm in the same mindset.
I'd prefer the extra range as I'd rarely need public charging then, but our current car is getting much harder for me to manage with.
Just not sure anyone has any SR either though ?

My local dealer was getting at least 2x SRs in. I do frequent motorway journeys so I can see myself regretting it if I go for the SR now.
