Yes, exactly beyond the high revs, what really worries me is the power loss, which makes the car dangerous when overtaking. I also hope they fix the issue with the adaptive cruise control on the highway, as it’s basically unusable right now because of the high revs.
From what I understand, the update will also involve the engine, which will become a turbo version. Maybe they’ve finally realized there’s a problem with the naturally aspirated engine.

Yeh hopefully they fix it properly this time , can't comment on the cruise control haven't used it yet . Yes the non turbo vehicle is being discontinued. Not the one in the hybrid though as it has more power than the non aspirated engine. I phoned my local dealer to ASK when the software update will be available and you can guess the reply we don't know what your talking about? Was told to phone MG UK to find out more information because the dealership can't be arsed priceless?

Exactly! We actually know more here on the forum — we’re the ones dealing with this car screaming its head off at the slightest hill. Hopefully MG will confirm the news soon. @Scotsman please keep me posted if MG UK gets back to you. Over here in Italy, dealers have no clue about it either.

Only information IAM getting at the moment is it will be available in the new year don't no when? I will do more investigations but I can almost guarantee that MG UK will say they don't have the information yet ? Till then if you have dentures make sure they are well glued in because the over revving could dislodge them 😁

Hi all,
At last, we have a NEW over revving software update coming.

"Hybrid versions of the ZS also receive software updates to its powertrain for a "smoother, thriftier, quieter, and higher-performing driving experience across both urban and highway conditions.
Revisions include a softer pedal map for smoother low-speed acceleration, increased regenerative braking, lower engine speeds "especially on longer intercity trips", and stronger high-speed performance "for cleaner overtakes and on-ramps [acceleration]".

I emailed the MG Australian CEO to clarify if this is also for '25 existing vehicles (pretty sure it is) but it looks like a fix is at last on the way.
See story below;

Regards
Mark

Hopefully MG will make an official statement soon to confirm things.

How can any car manufacturer say losing power is the characteristic of the engine 🤷‍♂️it’s down right bloody dangerous and no car on the planet should experience this . Was thinking about getting the ZS Hybrid+ for the wife as I have the hs and it’s a cracking car .

Yep it beggars belief that a car manufacturer says it a characteristic when it loses power, must be something wrong if MG has just announced another software update to try and eliminate the power loss and high revs issue. Apart from that problem the car is great .

I totally agree, I really like our car, but I’d like to be able to overtake safely with a proper response. Hopefully the new update will be available in Europe and will fix all these issues, otherwise I’ll have to consider changing the car.

If this happens in my HS and they can’t fix it the car will be driven into the Scottish hills and set fire to 🤣🤣

I am from Greece , i have the car since February. Till then and when i noticed the over rev issue i pushed MG Greece and my reseller and have already made 1 upgrade (the official made for all of our cars) and additional 2 times they have remotely connected from MG to check my car without informing me of the results or whether they have modified anything. What i notice after all above is that petrol engine works more than it used to be , i run less with ev , my consumption is certainly worst and the over rev still exist at the same places i used to notice same before all that. I am dissapointed to be honest. The car is great when over rev not appears , the car is awful and scary when over rev appears again

Yeh so far there has only been 1 software update which was round about march time the software for the engine gearbox problems can't be done remotely. Has to be plugged in at the dealership? Hopefully the latest update when it comes will eliminate all the problems 👍

Mine goes in for a service in December. I really hope this revving update works, on any hill my car sounds like it’s screaming at me!
Hi Kirsty I don't think the update will be available in December looking at next year sometime, it's only just been announced in Australia nothing officially in UK as yet ?

New update for over revving issues etc will be software Pd055 seemingly? I contacted MG UK for more information when it will be available in the UK and the reply so far is sweet F.A . So decided to phone my dealership they were about as much use as a chocolate fire guard 😁

I did receive my car yesterday from the dealership after ( it was there for a knocking sound from the rear axle when wet, which I haven't come across here but apparently with MG3s its a known issue, where some screw in the rear axle bushing gets swapped in combination with greasing it, and my dealership told me there is a service bulletin out for the ZS as well), and also 2 software updates were installed, one the graphic equalizer (hooray) and the other one a brand new over reving related SW update, lkely the one discuzssed; I would after a few dozen kms say that the engine now is running more often, but at lower RPMs, the occasional over reving in the straight for cahrging being probably handled that way. I would also think that power delivery seems a bit less punchy, more building up linear, altogether feeling a bit more "natural" in behavior. Not day and night, but the shorter electric periods vs lower RPM when the engine charges are certainly noticeable.

Hi I got a reply back from MG UK regarding the software update announced in Australia and New Zealand. It was basically: the cars there are different to the cars in the UK Europe. It is a chararistic for the car to over rev charge the battery and rev its nuts off going up hills, also was told if there was an update it's the dealership's job to notify, so obviously I said I've never heard so much bullshit in my life. The cars are different, no they aren't? A chararistic it can't be because MG Australia has issued an update for over rev etc going up hills . And also it was the dealership that told me to get in touch with MG UK because it's not the dealership that brings out the software update? So I AM waiting for a reply from the biggest waste of time, MG customer service, again. And asked again when this software update is coming? So I doubt the software you got is the latest, unless now your car doesn't rev itself to pieces going up hills that is ?
