MG4 - batteries dies at -40c

I guess this would come down to some cars being clever enough to detect a low 12v battery and then the DC-DC converter automatically switching on to charge it up. The problem would be that can you trust the system to not malfunction as I am sure that on the MG cars they are designed to power down their modules after a certain amount of inactivity.

I agree and it's not just the MG4 that wouldn't start. Any vehicle with a 12v battery wouldn't start either.
Unfortunately, all the other cars in this test started fine and their batteries didn't die in -40°C. It might be just down to bad luck with a faulty battery, but it's still annoying.
