MG4 Couldn't open the boot

Did some shopping yesterday evening but the boot wouldn't open even with the car unlocked. A few lock/unlocks but boot still wouldn't open, so shopping went on back seat. Got home and tried again and now the boot opens. Strange?

I think sometimes the software gets confused and doesn't do things in the right sequence especially if it gets a lot of inputs happening before it's finished the first operation.
Which did you press first, the boot button on the key or the door button?

I used the button on the boot itself. Oh, I didn't think about the one on the key as I usually open the doors with the button on the handle.

We had a renault megane some years back that also had a similar issue- getting out of step with locking and unlocking

Happened with me too.
Starting with car on drive: unlocked car with fob, opened boot with tailgate release button on boot - dog jumped in (as intended).
Arrived at woods, I exited car - but boot would not open, tailgate button unresponsive.
Locked/Unlocked car with fob but no difference.
Had to get dog out by folding down back seat and exiting by rear door.
Locked car, went for walk.
On return, it started working again.

When you unlock the car do you have it set so only the driver's door unlocks?

For me, car is set to unlock all doors
