MG4 diagnostic

I am due to take my MG4 in for a diagnostic as I had a vehicle control fault error on it, I have not had this error since but would like to take it in anyway to be sure and hopefully get them to update the car too as I worry the software version doesn’t help with the errors. Would they charge me if I take it in and they find there isn’t a problem? I have found since by doing a fault scan that it has 2 current faults which I’d also like to bring up however neither seem related to the control fault.

I think you would need to ask them that question first and get a clear view of their policies. An independent garage could put on a better quality scanner which could clear codes , but they would charge you for that , but maybe not as much. De-connecting the battery 12V for a few minuets might do the same thing? Look up 10mm spanner trick.

It wasnt a cheap obd2 type scanner, it was a proper one and the errors were cleared but came back. I have a report from it that I can show mg too.
