MG4 first year service cost

I've just been quoted £278 for first year service.
I was under the impression the first year would be cheaper than that.
They mentioned a service plan of which I knew nothing about. I was never offered one.

They are having a laugh. In November when I phoned around the prices were:

Area / Cost £
Barnsley = £133
Sheffield = £135
Doncaster = £145
Chesterfield = £145
Leeds = £154
Nottingham = £162

I used Chesterfield due to them having shortest wait time.

Probably quoting you the 2 year service, or the FO price.

With a 3 year service plan mine went from 195 to 110 for the exact same garage. I did it through MG website.

If you have not done your first services you can still sign up for one.
I got quoted 195 booked my car in. Then took out the service plan and when I arrived at the dealer showed them I had a plan.

First payment via the plan was £110 then dropped to a low monthly payment going forward.

I've emailed 2 other places that service mg EVs.

It was not a problem for me. I would ignore what the dealer tells you they just want your money.

If you go on to MG website and look you will see what plans you can get for what garages. It was very easy to pick the one that worked me. I also select low millage as I do about 6k a year.

There's only one dealer in each area. I think Sheffield is Eric Stead and Barnsley is Cars2Go.

I'd phone up and when they say £248+ just say, no i mean the first service not the second. I had a few dealers tell me silly price until I said that seems a lot for a basic check over (as nothing is replaced).

As I say the first payment was high to cover the first service then dropped to low monthly payments for the next.

Shop around the dealers are full of crap

Better than £278.
I'll be enquiring round more by the looks of it.

Yep, no service plan. Personally I never bother with service plans. But that's just me.
