MG4 Headlight Replacement:

A few days ago, I hit a pheasant and broke the left headlight of my MG4. Has anyone replaced an MG4 headlight unit? This morning, I disconnected the wiring loom, removed the 2 bolts holding the headlight, and another 6 bolts from the front trim under the bonnet, but the headlight remains in place. It seems I might need to remove the entire front of the car for access unless there's another way.

I've searched online for guidance, including YouTube, but found nothing due to the MG4's newness. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Alb. Do you have the link to that manual please?
I'll need the front bumper Removal and Refit guide, and the beam adjustment checks

You may want to watch the video in the following thread to see how not to remove the bumper.

Does anyone know, if rear headlights from an UK spec car fit a euro spec car? I'd imagine front lights can be an issue due to driving position, but rears shouldnt be an issue?

The only difference might have been if there was a fog light built into the cluster, but there isn't, so they're probably the same.

Headlight replaced, it took me about an hour in total.
Notes:
It required 2 people when pulling the bumper off the clips, and when refitting
I used a couple of old cushions to prevent the bumper dropping unexpectedly.
There is no need to disconnect any cables other than the 1 headlight cable. The video shows this in more detail

Thanks to Geekice and DixieTGS for the manual and video link

A question to anyone who has changed a Trophy/Luxury headlight - left or right doesn't matter!

I need to change a headlight as I punched a hole in the front of it (headlight meets steel post box, the post box won :( )

I sourced an immaculate new right hand headlight from Latvia - the donor car had a left side light & wing meeting with another car! It arrived this morning and really is as advertised, but i noticed that at the inner (pointy) end there is a gap between the front & rear housing that looks wider that it should be,

It's hard to see in the photo's, as it's black against black but you can see the gap ringed in red in the photo's. Circled in yellow is what looks like the clip and slot to hold the 2 parts in place, but it looks like the end of the clip is missing ir intentionally cut off; I looked at photos from ebay and other places and although none of them show this area in detail, it does look to me like that clip is cut off in all of them - I can't see if there's a gap though.

Thee are also 2 screws that hold the 2 parts together either side of the slot, they seem untouched and the sealant looks as if it's OK in the gap but again its hard to tell. So my question is that if you have a headlight to hand, or photo's or just by memory, is this gap 'normal'? My guess is that it could be a manufacturing fudge, that the mouldings don't fit perfectly but the sealant and the screws hold it together in the right place.

I can't get the bumper off on my own and have no help so before I take it to my local crash repairer to change it, I want to be reasonably sure this is OK as I do have time to return it if not.

Many thanks in advance :)
