I bought my MG4 four months ago and was actually quite happy with the speaker system (I have the version with six speakers). But I decided to see what was possible in terms of upgrading the system.

I was looking for something truly plug-and-play and came across Speakercity – a German car hi-fi shop. They sell full kits for all kinds of vehicles, but perhaps the most interesting one is the kit specifically made for the MG4.

The kit comes with everything you need: from speakers to a custom-made subwoofer (specifically designed to fit the MG4 and look completely OEM), 3D-printed adapters, a pre-programmed controller, and plug-and-play wiring harnesses. It even includes all the materials needed for sound dampening.

You can find the kit here: MG4 Electric Soundsysteme

The result is absolutely stunning!

Looks very impressive and no doubt sounds awesome. But to be honest, I'm more than happy with the sound system in my X Power, sounds great. You say that's plug an play, that still looks way to complcated to me. But each to their own. 🙂👍

It looks a little rough because you need to remove some panels here and there to run the harness, but other than just being annoying, it's fine. During the removal process, I found out that the MG4 is a very simple car and great to service, because most of the panels are just clipped in. Also, nothing is coded to the car, so you can unplug things from the main computer while the 12V battery is still connected, and it doesn’t throw any errors like most modern cars. The difference in sound is like night and day, but I totally get that this kind of upgrade isn't for everybody. The shop also offers an installation service for the kit (costs an extra 450 Euros – which is quite fair in my opinion).
