MG4 Powerbench test

This is in French. Used Google translate which was not too good.

It may have been a translation issue, but it appears the MG4 has 2 gears, the power is less than the specifications and there is a bug with indicators flashing.

Can someone who can understands French please clarify what was said?

Enable closed captions, then click in the Settings cog and set the Subtitles to auto-translate to English - that gives English sub-titles. (Not watched enough of the video to see how good they are).

I don't think there's any chance this cut price EV has a 2 speed tranny, they (MG) would have been bragging about that for sure.

More like two delivery modes/algorithms with an unsubtle switch between them. The indicators flashing implies that the car detected something odd, perhaps that it was being tested, and dialled down the power. Much like a VW/Bosch "Defeat" feature for emissions testing.

Might well be, not sure what the reason for such a feature would be though.
Jonny Smith mentioned he felt a 'step' in the power delivery on the late brake show vid, can't say I noticed it on my test drive.

More likely the torque is limited at low speed to protect the drive train. When the limit is removed it might feel like a gear change.
