MG4 Restricted speed - weird

You mean a flexible connection that uses spare gearbox oil, burns it in an onboard generator that produces AC, which connects to the motor via a control unit and makes the MG4 go like something off a shovel....I await the video 🏎🏁
How about installing a little petrol engine to help the motor when under stress?

I wonder if the motor alone is replaced or if they just drop in a complete assembly including transfer box etc - I bet on the latter. It never ever sounded like a motor issue.
It‘s a massive red flag when items are changed without supportive evidence in terms of diagnostic back up data. In fairness, this may have been done - if so I’d love to see the rationale behind the replacement. My bet is that this is a BMS software based issue - not hardware.
Garages are so far out of their depth with EV‘s and particularly software issues. It’s like giving a blacksmith a spaceship.
As we’ve seen many owners know significantly more than the garage do.

The Reduction Gearbox.
A Transfer Box is what you typically find on a 4WD vehicle with a single power source.
Ok. My poor terminology. I called this because it transfers the input from the electric motor through a reduction gear and differential out to the road wheels. The reduction gearing is where it takes its name from I suppose.

I got into a brief twitter conversation with cleevely EV specialists about the fault and they seemed genuinely interested in helping.
I’ve no doubt they have the expertise to pinpoint the problem and it’s only geography that has stopped us working on it together.

Well, I snapped today….
Nothing from the dealer since I advised them it’s still doing it on Friday.
So email sent saying no longer interested in discussing a replacement car as I have zero faith a new one won’t do it too.
So rejection and refund wanted.
It is still beyond me how communication with customers with critical faults can be that bad.

Add "your honour" on the end and see if it would stand up in court 😂
I’m closer to France than Scotland and they allow 85mph. Not to mention my brother in law in Germany, problem is my diesel can get there on one tank but isn’t allowed into the city he lives in. Don’t think I’ll do too many 600mile trips in my 4 when it finally arrives.

150 miles - half hour stop to "fill up"; repeat until you reach your destination. (So 3x half hour stops - which wouldn't be unreasonable for a 600 mile trip). :)

And that's assuming the SE SR ... if one of the LR models then you could do "fill ups" after 200 miles. :)

How slow would you have to cruise to get 150 miles out of an SR?
I’m guessing pretty damn slow.
Slower than I’d be prepared to drive 150 miles, that’s for sure.

Depends on time of year ... once it warms up I'd reckon on easily getting 150 miles on the SR at legal speeds.

Dunno, I find it difficult to pull mine below 3 miles / kWh on a spirited drive of a decent length. It's more on the short hops where you're heating the interior and starting with a cold battery over and over that I've only got 130 miles or so to 5%.

Of course if you're sitting at your highly👮‍♂️ illegal preferred speed of 85 mph, that could change things 😊

Unless you have a 'private road' running all the way to the coast! ;):ROFLMAO:

God forbid that would be the sort of speed at sit at when doing long runs (but it is)
Thankfully long runs aren’t something I use an EV for, yet anyway.
