MG4 SE vs MG4 Trophy Connectivity

Hello,

We know that MG4 Trophy has a 4g connectivity that the other two versions don't have.

My question is:
How do the SE versions allow remote control from iSmart Lite app if there is no 4g connection?

What am I missing?

Nothing. But it'll be a much lower data SIM, and possibly 3G for cost despite the imminent end date for that technology in the UK.

There aren't that many 3G only modems available anymore and they're for specific use cases and cost more than the respective 4G/3G combined modems due to the reduced market for them

It'll most likely be the same modem as that's in the Trophy, but with the software missing for it to be exposed to the user except for eSOS and ismart usage

It has a 4G eSIM - same as the Trophy. But the SE doesn't have the firmware to enable the additional data features. That's all it is (AFAIK).

PS - the iSMART app has an update today, to v1.1.10. No obvious visual differences, but the SMS activation to add a mobile number now works.

Yep confirmation text has a Swedish number same as activation for for Amazon, wonder if they have moved servers now and everything is coming from Sweden
