MG4 Software Update Thread

Hi All, I had a look through the comments but cant seem to find to much about Australian models, I have an Essence 64, running the SWI165 R11 software. Is there any update for this? It seems very out of date compared to the rest of the world and the dealer is no hope, they’ve said thats all there is.
My Essence 64 came with SWI165-R11, new from the dealership about 18 months ago. The R number is a lot lower than the European ones are but they don’t correlate like that, we are not 60-ish updates behind them.

@Corindikev didn't you get updates done in the last six months, or at least your last service? Which number did you end up on?

In my MG4 Luxury model car, I successfully completed the activation process as follows:

While connected to WiFi, I went to Settings → Software Version, tapped it 5 times to open the hidden menu, entered the code 200519, enabled the option on the right side, and then activated AVN and Map one after the other.

Anyone experiencing the same issue can perform the same steps.

The problem was occurring only when I used the phone’s mobile hotspot. When I connected to a regular (normal) WiFi network, the activation worked successfully and updated to Active AVN and Active Map.

Good to hear the issue was not coming from R73!
 
Maybe the issue come from TBOX and R73 ?
Your version is SNAKP04T3E and EU/UK version is SNAKPXXE32 (XX = 2 digits)

It doesn't seem R73 bring new things so revert to R71 if everything was working with this version.

Or maybe you need FICM MCU update or TBOX update to make everything working fine !?!

Changes were made to the Tbox units in the Comfort and Luxury model vehicles in Turkey. For vehicles sold in the Turkish market, the BTK registration process could not be completed on time, so the built-in e-SIMs were deactivated. An agreement was then reached with Vodafone Turkey, the e-SIM numbers were configured accordingly, and based on this information, the manufacturer SAIC issued a recall for the vehicles and replaced the Tbox units.

The new units came with version SNAKP04T3E, while the previous versions are the ones you mentioned.

Since the current infrastructure work is not yet complete, iSmart remote access is still not active in our vehicles. We have had the vehicles for some time, but the system has remained closed and inactive until now. A few vehicles are being used actively for testing purposes, and they are monitoring them to check whether there are any return errors or not.

In short, iSmart is not active in our vehicles, data loading has not been done yet, there is unfortunately no Turkish language option, and new model vehicles were not brought to the Turkish market due to the high ÖTV (Special Consumption Tax

When I installed the R73 version on my car and entered the iSmart user information, it gave the following error. It also didn’t update the weather. The system performed the version license approval, but it didn’t perform the map approval either. Unfortunately, activation is not working. However, the map is actively working. The screen constantly shows the error: “does not have car info (10001)”.

My vehicle’s fıcm SIPS version is 59.5.2.0.

Additionally, isn’t this R73 version the global version? There is still no language selection option in our vehicles. The Turkish language option is not available, not even in the Luxury model. This makes using the vehicle very difficult. When a warning or information appears, we have to search on the screens. Since this issue is related to important vehicle situations, it creates a safety concern.

based on my only upgrade done(r59->r71,tbox, all ecu) & your pictures: your car "lost the gsm connection". just like mine. It took about 3(4?) days to restore by itself, wihout any intervention - i dare think, that in gsm network & there are settings that expire after a while (like dns or security tokens) and only then, when those expire the connection will be fully restored. how ever this is a speculation. you should go to settings - there is a setting like "online data entertaiment switch" - this one if active means gsm works

Yes ,it's great to see that there is no problem with R73.It would have been better if there was a Turkish language option as well.


can u go settings, last page and inspect MG touchpoint, do u notice anything new ?? I suspect (not sure) this is vechicleservice.apk - which is main modification in r73
